Well, you might want to think about the fact that someone else on this message board could have lost a child. I haven't lost one myself, but my sister did and it was one of the most horrible things I have ever been though (I couldn't even begin to imagine what she went though). I didn't hear the segment, so I guess I am posting a little blind myself, but I don't see anything funny at all about a child dying. That happens when you have children of your own.

the segment was fairly tame. zane played more sensitive drops than he could have and watered them down with sympathetic/regretful moans afterward.
nobody's happy that babies die. tastelessness is defense for a subject that nobody wanted to hear about to begin with. over-the-top gross -> stupidity -> disgusted snicker -> lighter mood. if it gets too real, make it unreal.

Hey the best freakin part of this segment is hearing Zane and the guys talk about the fact that titan, having the post count that he does, could not possibly have a job. I am definitely going to get in trouble for laughing too loud after hearing them talk about the posts on this thread!!! Way to go Zane! and thanks for making me lighten up on the segment.

Deek - a lot of parents and expecting parents will write to their unborn child as a way of keeping track of all of their thoughts during the pregnancy. Then when the child is older, the parent might pass them onto the child to read. It's hardly uncommon. But when this child passed away, I think the father probably wrote letters as part of his grieving process.
