My wife has said she'll do most of the mowing, because she enjoys doing it and because I get the driveway all winter. I just know that all the neighbors will think I'm an a-hole if she's the only one they see out there with the mower, though, so I'm not going to let her always be the one to mow.

I had a lovely night at the Meijer Gardens with the fiancee, taking pictures with our camera. It was a lot of fun, and I accidentally figured out how to turn on LiveView by pressing random buttons.

Wishing this damn rain would stop and go away for more than a day or two. Found a damp spot on the floor in the basement a couple days ago, and I'm really not wanting to have to deal with some sort of major water issue.

Heh, if only it were so simple. Carpet is the big reason I'm hoping to prevent any further dampness. This area of the basement is finished, and I really don't want to have to deal with mold in/under the carpet/pad.
When I got home from work I was happy to see that things don't feel like they've gotten worse at all. I've been running a big box fan for the past day, blowing over the damp area, so hopefully that'll help it all dry out PDQ.

I have been doing flood work for the past 4 days all around GR, you are not the only one with problems. We had to rip up all the carpet and pad at one house because the water is following the cracks of the floor and coming in on all the walls... it was not cool.
Also keep the fan on that spot for at least two days after the carpet feels dry because the pad will not totally dry even once the carpet is.

Our Impala is flooding on the passenger side floorboard. There's a leak somewhere in the hood or dashboard. At least my crappy Explorer doesn't leak...

Is this the appropriate time for an "I told you so"? Just checking..... When you are ready to hang gutters let me know. It might help some of the problem. Also, forget the box fan, time to go to a big box store and buy a dehumidifier. They are realatively cheap and will make a huge difference. I've had mine running for a few days now. GO DO IT!

Doing next week's legislative calendar for my boss and just ran across a bill to make it a criminal offense (Class C Misdemeanor) for knowingly wearing your pants below the waistline to show your underwear or buttocks. I cannot believe the way legislators waste the taxpayer's money. :x

This isn't a gutter issue, it happened in a spot where we have gutters on the roof. It happened back by that dugout window, by the little bar area. My best guess is that area was a little prone to water issues due to the earth that was removed when previous owners put in that window. We've been planning on getting a dehumidifier this weekend, Target has one on sale.
Glad to say the rain yesterday didn't seem to make anything worse, and the dampness in the floor seems quite a bit better. Still running the fan in the meantime, and will be getting a dehumidifier up and running hopefully tonight.
