I have one of each. Neither seem to be too bad as far as cold sensitivity. However, the ceramic one cracked and I lost about a third of it. Down to the gold core. It doesn't hurt so the Dentist said it was fine for a while. I guess I have a hard bite. The second time around he gave me the gold one to prevent the cracking problem. Not that you probably care.

It was seated around the 27th of July so it's been nearly a month. It started out to be a filling that partially came out and they replaced it, still hurt so they put a crown on it and the lab messed up the first tooth and they had to re form it. Now it hurts again.
Right now I'm hoping I don't have to have the whole tooth pulled
Are there any dentists on here?

I'm not a Dentist, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I had a similar issue. What was found was that the crown was making too much contact with with the other teeth when I would bite down. The repetative pressure never allowed the tooth to completely heal. The Dentist just ground a little off the top so it wouldn't contact so much. Now it is fine.
