Cover Songs - fetusfacedwindbag - 10-16-2008 Good. John Mayer covering Jimi Hendrix's Bold as Love. Call me a bro if you want, but I like JM's stuff. Never in love with his radio singles, but the other stuff on his albums is usually pretty good. Especially the live albums. Cover Songs - Queenie - 10-16-2008 I really like John Mayer. He has a great voice and his songs kind of remind me of John Hiatt. Cover Songs - fetusfacedwindbag - 10-16-2008 I'll have to look up John Hiatt. I hope I don't sound stupid saying this, but I've never heard of him. Cover Songs - Queenie - 10-16-2008 fetusfacedwindbag Wrote:I'll have to look up John Hiatt. http://www.johnhiatt.com/ I liked his Little Head album the best. Edit: And saw him in concert once at Starwood. Cover Songs - fetusfacedwindbag - 10-16-2008 He kinda sounds like Randy Newman with a little more edge to him. ![]() Cover Songs - misterfive - 10-19-2008 Boss Hoss covering Cameo's Word Up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFTfWTqQ0dM Cover Songs - elranito - 10-20-2008 I saw Local H play up at the 3rd floor of McFadden's a couple years ago. Aside from being a kick ass show... they played a surprisingly good cover of Britney Spears - Toxic. Go figure. Cover Songs - burnking - 10-20-2008 Queenie Wrote:I really like John Mayer. He has a great voice and his songs kind of remind me of John Hiatt. My problem with him is that everytime I hear his voice, I picture him singing, and when he sings he looks like he's pushing brown. You are totally right about that. I went to a couple of concerts of his, and all I could do was laugh at his tortured looking faces. Cover Songs - shakes - 10-25-2008 You want the difinitive My Maria cover, forget brooks and dunn and look up a band called the Gear Daddies. An old Minnesota band that still plays a few shows a year. You'll never listen to the goat roper version again. I'm also a big fan of The Black Crowes version of Zepplin's Ten Years Gone. Cover Songs - smokejacklandslide - 11-25-2008 not necessarily bad or good, but what these are is funny: Children Of Bodom- Oops, I Did It Again These Boots Are Made for Walkin'- Megadeth Cover Songs - snafu81 - 11-25-2008 burnking Wrote:Pearl Jam - Love, Reign O'er Me Really like The Who and grew up listening to them but I think Pearl Jam does a better version of these songs. Cover Songs - Biff - 11-25-2008 ChampKind Wrote:These Boots Are Made for Walkin'- MegadethOnly a hardcore Megadeth fan would know of the existence of this. Kudos. Cover Songs - bacontorpedo - 11-25-2008 Richard Cheese sings heavy metal and hardcore rap like a lounge act. It's pretty funny. Cover Songs - peachs - 11-26-2008 effin Richard Cheese.. Look him up, he's the shiznit Cover Songs - chlietoris63 - 11-26-2008 Opus Wrote:Turn the Page, originally by Bob Seger, covered by Metallica I love Lynyrd Skynyrd, but Shinedowns' version is the best!!! Cover Songs - providencecrow - 11-26-2008 bacontorpedo Wrote:Richard Cheese sings heavy metal and hardcore rap like a lounge act. It's pretty funny. If by heavy metal you mean Hard Rock and Grunge then your statement is highly accurate. The only metal song he does that i can think of is "War Ensemble" by Slayer, which is awesome. Cover Songs - professorpinasheep - 11-28-2008 John the Revelator - Gov't Mule (originally done by Blind Willie Johnson) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siRsIAjyFm0 In The Air Tonight - Nonpoint (if you don't know who originally did it, you're probably too young to read these forums.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7kalWmfigU Cover Songs - dingdongyo - 03-03-2009 seether - careless whisper really digging it Cover Songs - Rock Monster - 03-03-2009 They aren't a cover band per sae, but Apocalyptica is pretty kick ass. It's 4 cello players (and now a drummer) that cover popular music. The g/f and I just got the Metallica cover disc. ![]() Cover Songs - professorpinasheep - 03-03-2009 Rock Monster Wrote:They aren't a cover band per sae, but Apocalyptica is pretty kick ass. Still listen to it. It's got a couple more Metallica songs on it, as well as some awesome original numbers. Their latest release (Worlds Collide) has some good collaborations with some rock vocalists.. Awesome stuff. Cover Songs - dolph - 03-03-2009 I Walk the Line- Live Friend of the Devil- Counting Crows Cover Songs - krystal - 03-03-2009 I love punk covers of songs, but one artist I love and does a lot of covers is Holly Cole, a jazz singer. Re: Cover Songs - boizalynne - 08-13-2009 Had to revive this thread becaaaaauuuuseee~ Jim Sturgess and his version of The Beatles "I've Just Seen A Face" has me all hot and bothered... in a naughty good way. It makes me want to force my husband to speak in a British accent so that he can say 'she's just the girl for me and I want all the world to see we've met' in the EXACT SAME WAY he says it... is that creepy? ANYWAY... Great cover of an even better song... Re: Cover Songs - Biff - 08-13-2009 I foresee another baby soon............
