We're trying to decide whether or not my boyfriend should take the job with the Army so we can move to MD together when the baes closes. It would be a paycut for the first year but an increase in one year and another a year after that. Should he take it now, or wait it out for a higher paying position, or should we both look for new jobs so we don't have to move, or what??? Oh, we have to make this life-altering decision by this afternoon.

As you know, once you get your foot into the door with the Gov't you have a better chance at transferring to another area within the Gov't than to simply get a job in your area. Maybe you could move back to NJ with a transfer in a few years if you really want to get back there. Are both of your positions readily available in other government agencies?

He's going to take it, it's just that he was expecting to start at $10,000 more because he has a Master's. But since his M.A. doesn't directly relate to the position, he starts at entry level. Whatev, he will see that $10k in a year anyway.

Sitting on the side of hwy 9 in kentucky waiting on a tow truck cause my semi decided to blow a turbo going up a hill. Gonna be staying at hotel in cincinnati,oh tonite and prob 2morrow too. HOTEL PARTY IN CIN CITY! Freakin yay. Just the tow bill costing me $700 to be towed 45 miles. Not to mention the $2700 that a new turbo is gonna cost me. Tool I have a 2006 freightliner columbia condo sleeper. 435/470 hp split mercedes motor with 10 speed eaton fuller transmission and 3:55 rear gears WITH A BLOWN EFFIN TURBO. Tow was $750 for 2 hrs work. That's like a mid price hooker (better than a $2 dollar ho and cheaper than being married !) Ha

Really enjoy my job. Get to see the country and meet many different people. Plus on a good week I make a little over $4000. Of course I have trk payment and insurances for this and that but I do pretty good. Just when the trk goes down there's big bills. Driving a trk is not the most glamorous life but there are many benefits.
