I know, and only I, can prevent forest fires ( Smokey told me so). When I get done with that I will get right on top (with my attitude) of saving the oceans.
oh, and the Mayans do know their shit. Their culture lasted for thousands of years and they were great mathematicians. Several cultures have independently determined a significant change in our world on that date. As to what actually happens, I guess will just wait and see.

Actually, Europeans were kind enough to bring small pox and other deadly diseases when exploring this continent and wiped out 90 % of the indigenous people....
