First/Best Concert . . . - Queenie - 06-27-2008 you ever attended. My first was the Rolling Stones . . . I won tickets from a local radio station. My best was Boston at Starwood. Their music never sounded the same again and still when I hear a Boston song, it always takes me back. "Gonna hitch a ride . . ." First/Best Concert . . . - Biff - 06-27-2008 First: .38 Special and ZZ Top (yes, I'm old. Eff off). Best: Too many to mention. White Trash 1991. Alice Cooper 1987. King's X 2003. The list could go on..... First/Best Concert . . . - Queenie - 06-27-2008 Admin Wrote:First: .38 Special and ZZ Top (yes, I'm old. Eff off). Me too Biff . . . that's okay, we're like wine, we get better with age!! First/Best Concert . . . - derek - 06-27-2008 Best: Foo Fighters and Weezer when they were at Van Andel in 2006(or 2005, can't remember for sure) First/Best Concert . . . - fistor!@# - 06-27-2008 Metallica/Queensryche, Battle Creek, 1987. My mullet was in top shape and whipped around ferociously to Kirk Hammet's blazing riffs. Also, this was a couple months before the release of the video for One, and well before the INTER-NETS were so popular. I had no idea what they looked like prior to the curtain rising. It also happened to be the first concert I ever attended. All this combined to create the best concert experience I could ever hope to have. Damn that would have been awesome First/Best Concert . . . - fistor!@# - 06-27-2008 It was. When the curtain lifted as they started playing Blackened, all bets were off. The entire crowd was transformed into a brotherhood of mullet-flying head-bangin' which didn't stop for three hours. It was raw energy full of teen angst, adrenaline, and Aqua Net. It'll never be duplicated. Sorry, I hit the wrong button. - Biff First/Best Concert . . . - Biff - 06-27-2008 Fistor Wrote:It was. Although I've never seen a bad Metallica performance (and I've seen them 6 times) the Battle Creek show was the standard bearer. I saw them later that summer in Mears. Great show too. That was before they condensed the AJFA stuff down to a medley. They played the full songs. First/Best Concert . . . - dasbow - 06-27-2008 My first concert was Peter Frampton's 'Comes Alive" tour in 1976 when I was 12. Best? Hmmm... Ozzy's 'Diary of a Madman' concert was epic, I saw Blue Oyster Cult at a hall in Germany that was about the size of a school gym. The perfect venue. First/Best Concert . . . - dino - 06-27-2008 dasbow Wrote:My first concert was Peter Frampton's 'Comes Alive" tour in 1976 when I was 12. First/Best Concert . . . - Allyson - 06-27-2008 A few years ago my friend invited me to an Almost Queen concert, a Queen tribute band. I said I'd go but didn't expect much. Best concert I've ever seen and I'm looking forward to going again. Anyone been to Wingstock at the Jersey Shore? I keep meaning to go but never get around to it. Hopefully I will this year. First/Best Concert . . . - fistor!@# - 06-27-2008 http://www.livemetallica.com/ For Metallica fans. You can download concerts for free. It's only the recordings, though, not the video. I'm currently listening to the free one from 1989, trying to recapture the feeling. I just bashed my head into my cubicle wall.
