Disagree. All of the people who come to chat come to the message board. Not all of the people who come to the message board come to chat, although a lot of the topics that MAY have been put on the board is talked about in chat instead, leaving some people out.

Somewhat agree. Not sure if it's as extreme as "killing", but I do think it's causing a pretty sizeable slowdown of posts.
I don't really have anything against chat, per se, I personally have no desire to go in it (can't at work, don't feel like it while at home), but I do wish that it wouldn't have a negative effect on posting.
