Apparently we've moved......

We've been redirected from board 83 to 47. Unless you save your password you may not have noticed.
Go fuck yourself. Hard.

yeah I kinda thought my job screwed around with my PC when I saw I had to re login today, then I saw the 47 there. Had me paranoid there for a second.

The move messed up things in my favorites. I had the "old" board 83 saved in there, and it would forward me to the correct board, 47, but the page wouldn't load properly. Once I updated my favorites link to board 47, everything loaded like normal again.

Just a heads-up in case anybody else is having a similar issue.

It seems they were having trouble with whatever server was hosting this board originally yesterday. When I was trying to post my pic in the lets see you thread it took like an hour of loading and reloading the page to even get to the point to make a reply to the post.

Now that I think of it the past couple weeks I've had a hell of a time loading this board at work at certain points. I just chalked it up to issues with our provider but maybe it was due to their server issues.

If you right click an avatar you can see the full size images. Depending upon which browser you use (with Firefox you can select "view image" and it will fully open). With IE, which incidentally sucks, you can select properties and copy the URL to your browser.

The moral of the story is drop IE and use Firefox for goodness sake.

Just a heads up guys.. IE users are still having trouble.

All the page does is reload over and over again.

I had to install Firefox just to view the page.

If that's why you downloaded firefox, you may need to re-evaluate your internet usage, and that definitely includes porn

I use IE because I use Windows Server 2008 and the features like remote desktop, exchange over web, and sharepoint don't play well with Firefox.

Until Firefox can actually do those things, I don't need to use it. 1 browser is enough for me.

It's my experience in general that sharepoint doesnt play well with anything, including its own back end (and dont even get me started on infopath integration). It's more of just microsoft being microsoft, they should stick to the hardware market, they are apparently a lot better at that.

Wow, and to think I thought I nerded this thread earlier.

Are you trying to access the page from clicking on a link in your favorites list?

This morning I had the "reload issue" when trying to get to the main page, I was using a link in my favorites, which was trying to get to the page from the old server. I changed the saved link to the new server, and have been fine ever since.

No. I changed the link and it was still doing it.

I finally narrowed it down to the cookie the board puts on here after you sign in. The cookie ID is the same so the cookie kept trying to reload the wrong page.

Once I dumped the cookie, all was fine.

The problem has resurfaced.

This time, deleting all temporary internet files didn't help.

Beginning to think it has something to do with the google ads.

BTW.. I experience this on 4 different machines, 3 with XP, one with Vista. I am sure that others are not able to even get to the board as they wouldn't know to install Firefox to get around the issue.

Outside of my issues that first day, I've been fine. Sorry you've been having so many problems.

I'm not really all that sure what we might be able to do on our end to combat things. This free version of the boards seems pretty stripped down in terms of what admin controls are available.

An email to Proboards might help to resolve the issue.

Again, using Firefox to view the board is not a big deal for me, but it does raise concern for the rest of the community members that may not know that installing Firefox will help them get around the issue.
