They're great for someone who doesn't want a motorcycle, but still wants to save some cash on gas. I wouldn't ride one, but if he wants to, that's cool.

I borrowed a moped once and pulled up next to this souped up bike and said to the dude "wanna race?" The chick he was trying to pick up IFO the store laughed and seemed to appreciate my originality and since of humor more so than she did the dude trying to act cool because he owned a bike. Don't get me wrong, bikes are much more fun, but using them as a tool to give you a certain image is just downright lame.
