Ok, this thread has all the info you should need to fix your podcast when it decides not to work. It only pertains to iTunes, but there are other podcast fetcher links at the end of the post so that you can try them. You are on your own if you don’t use iTunes, unless someone else feels kind enough to write a help topic on one of the other fetchers.
I will start off with a list of things you should do first, I will go into detail as needed:
1. Make sure the link you entered into iTunes matches the one in your email from Dean. If it doesn’t unsubscribe from the podcast, and follow the directions located here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.freebeerandhotwingsshop.com/podcasting/podcast.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.freebeerandhotwingsshop.com/ ... odcast.asp</a><!-- m -->
2. Paste the link into your normal web browser, if the current podcast files show up then you know that the problem is in fact with iTunes and not with the podcast itself.
3. Unsubscribe and then Re-subscribe to the podcast, a lot of times this simple step can fix the problem. To do this simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the iTunes window when in the Free Beer and Hot Wings Morning Show page of iTunes, then click the re-subscribe link and hopefully that will fix your problem.
4. If that does not work, try to manually reenter the link. First unsubscribe from the podcast, then close iTunes. Now reopen iTunes and click the advanced tab at the top, select “subscribe to podcast” and enter the podcast link again to make it work.
5. If none of the above works, then you need to email Dean at <!-- e --><a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</a><!-- e --> and he can send you a new link that will hopefully solve your issues and make you a happy FBHW podcaster.
6. Try other podcast fetchers such as:
Juice - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/</a><!-- m -->
MyPodder/AutoPodder - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.podcastready.com/download.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.podcastready.com/download.php</a><!-- m -->
HIDownload - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.hidownload.com/hidownload-podcast-manager.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.hidownload.com/hidownload-po ... anager.htm</a><!-- m -->
These are all the steps I currently know of that will help you if your podcast link is not working correctly. But just to make sure if your podcast has not updated recently try and manually download them by right clicking on the name of the podcast and selecting update podcast. If none of these suggestions work check Apples help site for iTunes located here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/</a><!-- m -->
I will add more info as I think of it or others suggest it, but this should really solve 90% of all your podcast problems with the current info.
