I have to deal with ADD everyday, and I know I have a variety of options available to me. But I just can't agree that "addiction" is a disease.
On a side note, a few years ago I had a legal prescription for percocette. HOLY SHIT ! ! ! That stuff was F'ing amazing. It was like Ritalin times 10. It made everything more enjoyable, I was able to focus on whatever topic was at hand. fortunately my medical coverage ran out and I didn't have to keep taking that stuff. but geezus H man those were some wonderful days.
