On the other hand, i am currently fine tuning "Third Eye" from Tool on drums, if i can get my hands on a camera once i feel confident enough with it, i may post something.

counting rhythms is where a LOT of people fail.

I've been attempting to learn some Tool stuff. Some of the beats just feel so awkward when I drum them, haha.

I give up on some of careys polyrhythms, the dude is a madman.

I have found the main reason that most people fail at counting rhythms are that they dont know how to break them down at all. What i see is instead of people going "1 e and a 2 e and a" for 16th notes they will just rapidly try to go "1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4' and it throws them off.

I find it pretty easy to go to any different count because i can count to 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and so on. I have no problem switching a count from 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and to 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and. Maybe i'm just special.
