WBC has a lot of problems. It's also important to say that not all Christians are living their lives the way God would want them to live. Just going to church doesn't mean you are an excellent representative for God. I myself am a Christian who doesn't really go to Church, but rather have my own relationship with God through prayer, small groups and reading the Bible.
That being said, God isn't going to determine everything you do like a chess piece. He gives us free will to decide how we want to live our lives, even though that may not be the way He wants us to live.
Not everyone who says they are a Christian really follow what the Bible says. Instead they use their alleged faith as a way to attack others and spread hate to other people, a polar opposite of what the Bible teaches. WBC fits this category.
