And in regards to the "anyone can do it" approach - this is a weak defense. Who decides if someone has successfully "done it"?
I can make something and say it's a house, and you can come along and say "Well it doesn't look like MY house, so it's obviously not a house." Does that mean I've not accomplished what I wanted to do and therefore is not art?
