Yes, there are other objectives as well, but the main objective is in fact the Higgs Boson particle.
I think they may also be checking into some things for the M-theory or better named String Theory.
Either way, it had better not create a big black hole or it will suck, litterally.
If it does, we will all become real close friends. ;D
