No, I mean direct contact with you vs. another person. I put gymnastics and golf and cheerleading in the same category, competition.
By direct contact I mean football, soccer, tennis, etc where you have an opponent to beat, not just you doing the best you can for yourself.
With gymnastics you do compete against others directly in the all around and individual discipline events. Your scores go right up against the scores of the other competitors.
