I really like John Mayer. He has a great voice and his songs kind of remind me of John Hiatt.

My problem with him is that everytime I hear his voice, I picture him singing, and when he sings he looks like he's pushing brown.

You are totally right about that. I went to a couple of concerts of his, and all I could do was laugh at his tortured looking faces.
