what an ingenious move it was to have the last four years go like this:

So now the salary cap hit is 6million instead of upwards to 7.5million. I think they mostly did this so they could sign Hossa instead of Franzen long term, as they'd garner 7+million or 5+million respectively.
And come on, I like Franzen, but Hossa? Wings would have the top three two way forwards in the game signed to long term deals.
