They don't need to be responsible for themselves or their actions if God is going to forgive them in the end. Again, what is the point of trying if God is going to forgive you if you just ask no matter what you do. Sounds sick and twisted to me. That lack of personal responsibility is whats wrong in this world. It's nice that you find peace in it, but I don't.
Please do not say that Christians aren't responsible due to being able to ask for forgiveness of sins, that's a gross overstatement that paints an unfair picture of those that practice the Christian faith.
If I commit a sin, whatever it might be, yes, I can ask God to forgive me, and He will. I still have to deal with the earthly consequences of that sin, though. Sure, I can go murder a guy, and God will forgive me of it if I ask Him to. I still will be serving jailtime, however.
God's forgiveness of sins might make things better in the eternal sense, but it does not erase the earthly responsibilities that one must take for their actions. A rapist might accept Christ into his life and get forgiveness of his sins, but he will still have to serve whatever punishment he was given here on earth.
