If the last scene of this show is a snow globe with an island or Oceanic Airlines plane in it, and some autistic kid is holding it, I'm going to scream.
Also, did anyone see the end of Life on Mars ? If not.
SPOILER WARNING ! ! !
The time travel plot of Life on Mars, was due to a glitch in a computer program aboard the first manned mission to Mars. The program was supposed to keep the occupants mind occupied during the hyper sleep of the long trip to Mars. The original program was supposed to make the main character think he was a cop in our modern day, but the glitch threw him back to the 70s with all of his 2009 memories intact.
So, what's the possibility that the island is some sort of computer program ? A holodeck adventure of some sort ? The parameters of the program did not allow for the occupants to leave the island, so when the 6 were rescued, the program had to act in such a way as to get them back.
That's a theory that's probably been kicked around before, but since I don't read any of the lost fan pages, it's new to me, and original by me too.
