I don't think anything Katie is doing is wrong. I hate when people take advantage of the system, but to me it doesn't sound like they are. If they're not making payments on the vehicle and can only get $7000 for it, I don't see a big benefit to selling it, at least at the moment. They'd probably just have to buy another SUV to replace it, which would end up costing them more money. Hopefully things will turn around for them soon.
