Good.
John Mayer covering Jimi Hendrix's Bold as Love. Call me a bro if you want, but I like JM's stuff. Never in love with his radio singles, but the other stuff on his albums is usually pretty good. Especially the live albums.

I really like John Mayer. He has a great voice and his songs kind of remind me of John Hiatt.
Hey doc, do you know the address of that place?
Oh, you know, I do know the address. It's at the corner of go fuck yourself and buy a map!

I'll have to look up John Hiatt.
I hope I don't sound stupid saying this, but I've never heard of him.

I saw Local H play up at the 3rd floor of McFadden's a couple years ago. Aside from being a kick ass show... they played a surprisingly good cover of Britney Spears - Toxic. Go figure.

You want the difinitive My Maria cover, forget brooks and dunn and look up a band called the Gear Daddies. An old Minnesota band that still plays a few shows a year. You'll never listen to the goat roper version again. I'm also a big fan of The Black Crowes version of Zepplin's Ten Years Gone.

really digging it

They aren't a cover band per sae, but Apocalyptica is pretty kick ass. It's 4 cello players (and now a drummer) that cover popular music. The g/f and I just got the Metallica cover disc.

It's got a couple more Metallica songs on it, as well as some awesome original numbers. Their latest release (Worlds Collide) has some good collaborations with some rock vocalists.. Awesome stuff.

I love punk covers of songs, but one artist I love and does a lot of covers is Holly Cole, a jazz singer.

Had to revive this thread becaaaaauuuuseee~
Jim Sturgess and his version of The Beatles "I've Just Seen A Face" has me all hot and bothered... in a naughty good way. It makes me want to force my husband to speak in a British accent so that he can say 'she's just the girl for me and I want all the world to see we've met' in the EXACT SAME WAY he says it... is that creepy? ANYWAY... Great cover of an even better song...
