What do you think the Obama Administration will look like in the next four years? If nothing else, It sure will rankle a lot of backwoods hicks. My dad, at my nephews football game, during an exciting play while alot of people were cheering yelled "OObaamaa!!" Fifteen people turned around and glared at him.

I think the better candidate won, although I don't think either candidate were the best for this country. I highly doubt that 3 justices will retire in the next 4 years, however. I would guess 2 max (Ginsburg and Stevens) and those 2 have shown a more liberal stance so if Obama replaces them he will be replacing them with like-minded judges and the balance will not shift one iota.
I found it interesting that Obama was labeled an "elitist" at the beginning of the campaign, but last night Obama had a party for the people and McCain sat in his private hotel with an intimate crowd of invitation-only guests.

Incidently, while I did vote for Obama, I am not pleased that Congress went to the Dems as well. The checks and balances are in danger of being almost eliminated. There are 4 Senate seats up for grabs yet, and if the Dems win all of them to give them 60 seats total, the Republicans will lose fillibustering.
The pendulum has definitely swung from a goodly distance right to possibly even further left, thanks in part to the unpopularity of Bush. That's a scary thought. Let's all hope these people have our best interests at heart.

I think America made a mistake last night. While I'm sure Barack Obama is a decent man, and I'd love to sit down and have a beer with him, I disagree wholeheartedly with his politics.
Government isn't the solution for anything. I'm sure many of you will disagree, but I needn't look much further than the inefficiency of the Postal Service, TSA, Medicaid, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the brilliantly executed bail-out plan to support my belief.
My only hope is that in the next four years, those of you who think government can fix everything (at no charge to you) will see socialism for the failure that it has historically been (Cuba, China, N. Vietnam, N. Korea, Venezuela, E. Germany, the Soviet Union, etc...) and that in 2012, we'll be able to fix everything that President Obama has destroyed.

I keep hearing these socialism arguments, and they may be well-founded, I don't know. But what I want to know is this: how socialist are we right now? Let's not pretend that Obama would be unveiling socialism to America like it's a new concept. The government bailing out failing banks at the taxpayers expense was a classic example of socialism (and McCain suspended his campaign to help push it through Congress, let's not forget).

As for the question at hand - how socialist are we? The answer is simple. TOO socialist. If the Republicans had returned to the Regan-esque values of Conservatism (smaller government, more personal responsibility) and nominated a candidate with those values in the foreground, they would have stood a better chance.
Sadly, in the end, President Bush lost an election in which he wasn't even running.

I'd argue that there should be better legislation, that those that have little karma be given some karma, but also educated as to how to earn their own karma and not rely on karma handouts.

Well, to tell you truth, I use 90% of my exalt/smite ability trying to keep titan from getting a lifetime ban from -100 karma, so I am already following your spectacular plan of action.
