I'm really not sure where to start as I feel like I've lived about three life times jam packed into forty two years. This is part #1.

I was born and raised in the sticks, ten miles north of St. Louis MI, Home of the Sharks, Exact geographical center of lower Michigan, Home of Velisco Chemical Corp who polluted us all with PBB and DDT. I wandered around the woods for my first eighteen years with a weird neurological condition that would make all my muscles contract and twitch at inopportune times. I was pretty much ostracized as a kid because of it and couldn't wait to leave. And since the town died after the Chemical plant was shut down, I pretty much didn't have a choice.

When I was thirteen (after years of tests) one doctor I had diagnosed me with epilepsy, prescribed me with some medications and my seizures ( I called them dizzy spells) pretty much went away. This cleared the way for me to play football in high school and this is where I earned the nickname "maddog" because after I made my first tackle ever in an actually game I stood up growled loudly and beat my fists to my helmet. Somebody said "easy Maddog" and I've been Maddog ever since.
"Sir, You need to get out of your car, there is a train comming."
"Why ummm... uhhh did you ummm... feel the need to errrrr, god why can't I type!!"

I'm 26 and have lived in Jersey my whole life. I grew up in one of the WASP-iest towns in Ocean County (according to wikipedia the town is 97.98% white). I then moved to the slightly less WASP-ish town next to it when I was 12. I met my husband in in 6th grade and started dating him in 8th. Yep, we've been together for almost 12 years and married for little over 1 year. We live in Lacey now with our two Basset Hounds, Bosley and Molly. Eaxch month we quietly celebrate when we make our mortgage payment, "Hey babe, we own the house for one more month."

I went to Bay Head Elementary School. My graduating class had 8 kids in it, for the most part we weren't to fond of each other. I went to Point Pleasant Boro High School, more kids. I was a HUGE band nerd, along with my husband and got to march in 3 ticker tape parades for the Yankees. We were also class couple. LOL

I went to Richard Stockton College, which now has a longer name, where I received my BA in history and another in Elementary Ed. I'm certified to teach elementary school as well as middle school social studies....so I teach preschool. You have to start somewhere, I'm hoping to move up eventually.

I could go into the whole crazy family I have, but I've lost people in trying to explain it.

I am 42 and grew up in Cumberland Maine. I have an older and younger brother. My parents were very young when they married, but were great role models. They both came from very poor backgrounds. They built a beautiful life together for us all. My dad passed away almost 2 years ago at the young age of 62. It was a big turning point in my life. (I'll get to that in a bit)
I have an associates degree in medical laboratory technology. I worked in hospital and clinic labs for 15 years until I got my present job working in clinical chemistry research. It is a dream job for me. This job also was a turning point in my life.
Most importantly, I have two beautiful girls who are 11 and 12. They are truly the best of what I am!
As many of you know, I am in the process of a divorce. Those two turning points really apply here. The job changed me because it made me aware of how smart I am, and how accomplished I could be. It woke me up again to how confident I felt when I finished college. I realized that my husband had worn me down over the years to think I could not do anything right. Anything that went wrong was my fault in his mind. I lived with it for a long time, mostly because I just couldn't deal with it. My dad was very ill for eight years, and during that time we had many deaths in my mothers family. It was a hard time. When my father passed away I realized how short my life could be, and really had to decide if this is how I wanted to live the rest of my life. It took me a year before I felt strong enough to tell my husband I wanted a divorce. He begged me to stay. So, since I had thought about this for so long (we had gone to counseling about two years before this) I made a list of the things that needed to change. He looked at it once and never did anything to make me stay. So I took my girls and left. I bought a house and am supporting my children alone, with the firm support of my very strong mother.
So, for all those out there that have given me a hard time about getting divorced and labeling me as an "abused" woman, wait to live for some years. See what life throws at you before you start judging people. There isn't a thing I would change in my life. I would not have the 2 beautiful kids, or the wonderful relationships I have without appreciating where I've been.

sunshyne, you have a sweet looking dog. What a cute face!! I forgot to mention mine...he may as well be my third child. His name is Benjamin. I didn't have any boy babies so he's it, my big ol baby.

Yeah, my husband and I don't plan on kids for another couple years, so Piper is our big baby too. My mother in law calls her the granddog, but she's wishing for a grand kid. I'll try and take more pictures of her if I can get her to sit still long enough but I call her Hyper Piper for a reason.

Ok mainerliser, I will re-post a "tell all" but you have to realize that it will be long and drawn out. Be patient because it is going to take me a while.

Mainerliser, that's a tough row to hoe, but you are strong and have my admiration for the tough choices you have had to make. Your children are in quite capable hands! ( If all else fails, send that SOB a deer choad sandwich!) Wink

I have to ask about your screenname. When saw it, my first thought was that it was a " down south" way of saying MonaLisa.

" That there'n is a bonafiddy Mainerliser that was brotten in by the Loo-Vree!"

As usual, I am probably wrong, so what does it mean???

I work for the US Army as a civilian making sure their communications systems are running as efficiently as possible. I live on the Jersey Shore with my boyfriend of two years. He's a teacher at a Catholic high school (great.) so it looks like I'll be working for the rest of my life. We'll be moving down to Maryland in a few years because the Army base I work on is relocating. So if all goes according to plan we'll get married and move down there together to start our life. Hopefully by then FB+HW will have an affiliate out of DC.

MAN! You sure do rank high on the " 'tude meter" when you talk about your boyfriend! Can't save this, borrows from grandma that, has a job that you wish was better. You gotta give hime a break!

Btw. You sure are a pretty girl, but your avatar - I have to say - looks like it would be a good candidate for one of the SFW porn pics. ???

The way I see it is, I know all his flaws and how much he sucks at life and yet I still love him to death. That's better than thinking he is perfect then finding out 10 years and 2 kids later he's a total ass.
That's what she said.

I live in Maine. A lot of times we put r's on the end of words with a's at the end..hence Lisa becomes Liser. Mainer because I'm a Mainer (even though it should be pronounced Mainah in Maine speak.). Mainerliser! Thanks for the supportive words!

Maddog, I will patiently wait with baited breath!! :-*

I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
