GM = Government Motors ???
#41
hey why don't we just let the government run all the companies and then all us "Americans can work for little to no pay, but the government will supply us all a ration of food, healthcare and living quarters. We can rename the country, New USSR.

Hey as long as the government tells me how to live then I know I will have a fullfilling life.

Land of dreams? ha, my dream is to live off the government.

What? I have to give up the essential freedoms that america was built on to get "free" stuff?

Oh who cares, I rarely use those freedoms I think.

What do you mean I can't think?

oh thats one of those things the government is controlling since I gave up my freedoms.

OK I have a question. Lets say that despite all the government take over of GM and bankruptcy and bailout and against all odds, somehow two years from now GM starts to be profitable what then? Are they still beholding to Obama Inc? How long do they have to kiss his ass?

Then you'll see whether or not Obama's a full blown socialist. The "free market"/"capitalist" thing to do would be to let GM pay off their loans in order to gain complete corporate control back. I just hope Uncle Sam doesn't try to keep his claws dug in to keep getting more money from what should then be a private, corporate entity.
Where would we be without the agitators of the world attaching the electrodes of knowledge to the nipples of ignorance?

^what he said, if in fact GM has the money to pay them back and does then everything is good. If not then we have a problem.

But if GM is able to stand on its own two feet again, It would be able to make the kind of cars it wants to. And Barney Frank wants us all in 100 mpg glorified golf carts. We have a dilemma.

I think it is more like 50-60%, the house has a lot of power, but the senate is still a pretty dead even spot with no real power for either party.

Quote:By the way, didn't Hitler start out this way, finding excuses to take over any company that would serve "The Greater Good" of the Reich?

Ummm, no. Hitler was a social conservative and a capitalist.

I would guess that would be a possible no, but it would depend on how GM came out of it I guess. Chapter 11 doesn't relieve debts very much, it just allows a company to reorganize without having to worry about paying their bills back until they can come out of bankruptcy.

Speed bump, may I ask, which effed up school did you go to? Do you have Anti- Dictionarys and Anti-Encycolpedia's there? I'll use encyclopedia Britanicia http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topi...Nazi-Party

As my trusted source. And in it it says this
Quote:Nazi Party
political party, Germany

byname of National Socialist German Workers’ Party, German Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP)

It was founded as the German Workers’ Party by Anton Drexler, a Munich locksmith, in 1919. Hitler attended one of its meetings that year, and his energy and oratorical skills soon enabled him to take over the party. He ousted the party’s former leaders in 1920–21 and renamed it the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. In 1920 Hitler also formulated a 25-point program that became the permanent basis for the party. The program called for German abandonment of the Treaty of Versailles and for the expansion of German territory. These appeals for national aggrandizement were accompanied by a strident anti-Semitic rhetoric. The party’s socialist orientation was basically a demagogic gambit designed to attract support from the working class.

I can go on and on and on If you would like, :!: :?: :!:

I Quote further

Quote:Under Hitler the Nazi Party grew steadily in its home base of Bavaria. It organized strong-arm groups to protect its rallies and meetings. These groups drew their members from war veterans groups and paramilitary organizations and were organized under the name Sturmabteilung (SA). In 1923 Hitler and his followers felt strong enough to stage the Beer Hall Putsch, an unsuccessful attempt to take control of the Bavarian state government in the hope that it would trigger a nationwide insurrection against the Weimar Republic. The coup failed, the Nazi Party was temporarily banned, and Hitler was sent to prison for most of 1924.

I seem to remember Acorn (who recived a boat load of Stimulus Package money I might add) Rallying a bunch of there Tree Hippies and Drive around the neighbor hoods of AIG executives to intimidate and harass shortly after the "Bonus scandal" Not exactly the same level as Hitler, but in the right spirit.
