my brother and i talked about this incident.
he said it was a marketing nightmare - they want to bring a high-profile band in to "rock the nhl," and they bring in these "soccer guys" who know nothing about hockey and immediately make a joke out of the season-opening celebration. i said joe elliott looks like francis from pee wee's big adventure.

I don't hate him, but I do find them a little stupid, it was handed to you right side up, and you managed to not figure it out which side is up, awesome...what has nine arms and sucks? def leppard.

How many effing British guys in the NHL? And if there were any, how many would actually admit to liking Def Leppard. Next time the NHL should get Bare Naked Ladies unless Whitesnake has already been offered the gig.
