Seph, Slash, and Maynard if you can't laugh at this story than I might as well give up my job as the Dan Rather of the messageboard. I think funny newsstories should be allowed. quote: Seven vials of semen forms art show CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - So this is art -- for seven days Mexican performance artist Israel Mora ejaculated, in private, into seven glass vials. After this and presumably after Mora, 33, had rested, the vials of semen were put in a white, refrigerated box, and strung up for exhibit between two trees at the Banff Centre, a cultural institution in the Rocky Mountain resort of Banff. Titled "Level 7", the exhibit has been on display for the past six days. Thursday is the seventh, and last, day. Banff Centre spokeswoman Connie MacDonald said the performance is part of Mora's seven-week residency. The cost, about C$4,000 (1,800 pounds), is being picked up by the centre and the Mexican government. The residency, called "SloMo", has time as its theme and a number of artists are involved. Mora's cooler bears the label: "Warning: Contains 6 ml of semen extracted through masturbation, distributed among seven glass tubes." O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	You know what fuck all of you. Continue posting lunch threads and favorite movie of the day threads or whatever the chat thread of the day is. I am done. I will never ever ever post again in Off Topic. I am not done with the board because it is fun, but I am done with this section of the board. What the fuck is wrong with starting a funny thread of something that happened in the news. My last newsthreads involved Michael Jackson said he had anthrax, Oj being arrested for drug dealing, and Pee Wee being arrested for kiddie porn. I thought these stories might get some reactions. Obviously the only thing you can post here are chat threads and ink a dink posts.

AIM: SmarterChild Write To Me Here I think it all started with the Declaration of Independence -- the idea that we had the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	Kid, many of the stories I post now are not the common ones. You guys joke I get things from cnn.com but I don't get those stories from there. Many I get from the nypost or daily news. When I read a funny story, I would like to share. Whether you read it or not, it is still funny to hear some of the responses. I did it to get reactions not to insult people's intelligence. And Seph, you say I post at least 3 threads a day here, you are full of crap. I try to avoid the news threads because I know people hate them. Name an original, thought provoking thread that you Kid posted or was ink a dink your best one you could come up with.

Great find though Follow and I was living by that. I looked up some of my threads in offtopic in the past month. -Michael Jackson has anthrax -The morph of Michael Jackson through the years where he was a normal black kid to a freak of nature. Even Kid liked that one. -WTC tourist guy's identity revelaed (Topical because what a big deal it was for the show and the board) -Snoop Dogg writing music for porn films -movie clip of victorias secret lingerie show (hot women in sexy underwear) -Aids day or Norton's Christmas -The disgusting pic of the kid who had Norton and Stalker Patty for parents -Pee Wee's House of kiddie porn. Big news item yes, but come on this is funny. -OJ being arrested again for drug dealing. OJ breaking the law = always funny -An Ikeaboy item saying that facially disfigured children would be on Maury I don't think any of these were boring newsstories, but very topical and humorous. I never said I would stop posting stories. If I remember a direct quote from Slash, he says it is ok to post stories as long as I add something to it just to comment, which I have. And I did state where I got it from in the first sentence. I only post to get people's reactions. Personally I am not into the chat threads and that really seems to be the only things going nowadays. I see many people have a problem with me and don't like me here so I know I have no chance. Am I just banned from OffTopic or other parts of the board as well? Maybe it should be put in my status. Yes I posted lots of newsstories, but give me some credit, I have stopped for the most part. Think about it. From Sept 11th to the time we fought back this board had more newsthreads than probably even cnn.com. And talking about starting topics without putting any thought into it. I think I started a topic that took a lot of balls, about What is wrong with the opie and anthony show. I had a great idea. Since everyone hates all news stories, why don't I post them in Foght Club when I think it is intersting. You said that Slash told you not to post news stories unless you were adding commentary or something to that effect. You said that you did that here. WHERE? All I see is you posting a disclaimer for people not to rip you for it, and where you got the story. NO WHERE did you state your opinion on the topic. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	Kid, you say I don't make comments but I do. It may not be long just a sentence or 2, but I try to add something to it. It has never been about scooping somebody. It was always about trying to add something to the board and have interesting conversations about something that happened or something that is going on in the world. That's all it is. I don't give a shit about my post count. When I am bored at work, I enjoy coming to this board. I enjoy posting things and striking up conversations, I enjoy reading people's comments. That is all I care about.
