Dog delays Via train to Campbellton

CAMPBELLTON — The Via train from Montreal to Campbellton was about an hour late yesterday.
A Via employee says a large dog, believed to be a pit bull, apparently got out of its cage in the baggage section and killed a cat. Police were called in.
By the time the train made it to Campbellton, the employee says, the dog was back in his cage and appeared very calm. As the employee heard the story, the dog was somehow able to chew his way out of a steel cage.
After that, he had little problem breaking open the light, plastic cage housing the cat.
