Each theatrical version runs just about 3 hours in length, give or take a few minutes... but that doesn't tell the whole story.

See, the 1st extended edition DVD movie runs about 208 minutes (3 hrs., 28 min.) ... and the 2nd extended edition runs 223 minutes (3 hrs., 43 min.)...

Now if this one is <i>already</i> about 3 <sup>1</sup>/<sub>2</sub> hours long, then the extended DVD edition should run, oh I'd say about 4 hours then.

So all in all, have a big-ass tub of popcorn ready, and cancel all appointments for a full day.

(And really, there <i>is</i> no other way to enjoy these movies other then their extended edition versions. Don't you dare get the "theatrical release").
