- Gooch - 11-29-2006 Neither of us have a passport. Summertime is a wacky time to do a honeymoon....Europe is hot and stinky. Morocco is like the surface of the sun. Mexico has it's rainy season. Most of the Carribean is hurricane season. And we don't want to do that trip everyone does...Hawaii. we wanted to do Fiji, but the flight paths make you fucking sit on a plane for over 23 hours b/c New Zealand is the hub for them. Its ridiculous. Tahiti (Moorea and Bora Bora islands to be exact) might end up being our first choice. Flights from JFK are nonstop and are about 10 to 13 hours. Iceland/Amsterdam is #2....but might just do it as seperate trips down the line. All other ideas floating around is Australia (still another long fuckin flight), Argentina, Chile (and Easter Island). - HedCold - 11-29-2006 passports really aren't that hard to get, but i got it while i was still in school so i was able to go during the day. the court house in newark took the pictures and all that stuff for a fee, but it was easier to just get it all done in one place even though i had to stand in line with a bunch of mexicans. if you can find a post office or something that does all of it in one place its real easy. also if you're paranoid you'll want to get one before they start making them come with those RFID chips - Gooch - 11-29-2006 just wait till we are all wearing RFID chips. - faceman802 - 11-29-2006 I want my put in my neck at the back. It's always the way they are in the movies and it looks so cool - drusilla - 11-29-2006 Gooch Wrote:And we don't want to do that trip everyone does...Hawaii. yeah cause hawaii is such an aeful place to go to - GonzoStyle - 11-29-2006 go to europe, I hear its all the rage and you come back retarded. - faceman802 - 11-29-2006 Gooch Wrote:And we don't want to do that trip everyone does...Hawaii. go to montana, no one is doing that honeymoon trip. you'll have the place to yourself - Arpikarhu - 11-29-2006 go to Vegas! greatest place on earth! - GonzoStyle - 11-29-2006 you're gonna be fuckin most the time anyway, so just go to the motel 6 down the block for like a week. Spray some lilac freshner around, spread some coconuts and pineapple and save a few grand. - Arpikarhu - 11-29-2006 you are so edgy - Abster - 11-29-2006 With each and every post I love you more. - drusilla - 11-29-2006 go skiing in colorado. at least you will have something to do during the day - faceman802 - 11-29-2006 GonzoStyle Wrote:you're gonna be fuckin most the time anyway, so just go to the motel 6 down the block for like a week. Spray some lilac freshner around, spread some coconuts and pineapple and save a few grand. if you think a good idea for a honeymoon is the motel 6 down the block then you need advice from someone. I'm just one of the few who used to be willing to give it to you. - Abster - 11-29-2006 Turks & Caicos is the place to go. - Galt - 11-29-2006 Argentina is not only lame, but also very dangerous. But they do have great, inexpensive food. Brazil's food wasn't very good - I stuck with Pizza after two days of eating salty, shitty, dry food. If you are going to go to the area, go to Brazil. There are actual beaches unlike Argentina, and a lot more to do. I am actually published author on the subject of Brazil vs. Argentina. If you want a more active vacation (I know, doubtfaul, amirite???) then Costa Rica has cool rafting and rainiforest hiking, and it's pretty cheap. Machu Pichu is lame and completely overrated. July may not be the best time to go to South America, however, it's a bit cold(er) there at that time South Africa is easily the best vacation ever, and the only expensive thing is getting there. I had a very high end safari that was all inclusive of food, lodging, and 6+ hours of game drives/walks, and it was only $300 per person per day. You can fly direct (23 hours) or through Europe and break up the trips. Which you can also do if you went to Australia. Fly through San Fran or LA, spend a day there, and then go to Australia/New Zealand. I spent a day in Germany on the way to South Africa. You can get direct flights to South America from pretty much anywhere in Europe, so you could fly to Amsterdam for a day, which is really all you need in Amsterdam, and then fly to South Africa from there. And July is good time to go there. Just entering the dry season, so the game viewing would be good. You could also go to Capetown, which is romantic/pretty and do some drives down the coast, and then fly to get a safar, which would cost about $150 to fly across the country. Though the dollar's weaker than when I went there, so all the prices are probably more expensive. Australia, Fiji, New Zeland et al are really cool, would be warm, and there's enough to do that you can be completely content fucking or sitting on the beach, and when she becomes repulsed by you physically, it's picturesque and go on tours. Plus the scuba diving is amazing. You don't HAVE to fly direct to any of those places. You can get a layover, and even choose your layover for most of those places. You may even be able to have a couple layovers - San Fran for a couple days - Hong Kong for a few days - Fiji for a few days - and it's not even that much more epensive. I don't know why people have it in their mindset that any vacation they have to go to one place and one place alone and sit there for two weeks. After 3 or 4 days, I'm normally bored with any new country/area, and so I try to break up the vacations into a few different spots - the layovers aren't bad, you just have to plan more. - faceman802 - 11-29-2006 speaking of NZ http://www.wellingtonrover.co.nz/rover_rings_tour.htm - Gooch - 11-29-2006 Quote:Australia, Fiji, New Zeland et al are really cool, would be warm, and there's enough to do that you can be completely content fucking or sitting on the beach, and when she becomes repulsed by you physically, it's picturesque and go on tours. well done |
