- Gooch - 07-21-2002 i went to macworld...it sucked ass. the industry is hit hard. last pc expo blew too. - Kid Afrika - 07-21-2002 I know that Mac isn't all bad, but I also know that PC dominates the market. More applications are developed for it, and more people use it. If PC was truly the less-desirable platform, wouldn't Mac have more than a 5% share? Macs are pretty, that's why bitches like them. What's your excuse? ;-) - Gooch - 07-21-2002 Graphic apps. Layout and production are cross-platform, but main actualy art/graphical work is still and will probably stay Mac. Print/Publishing...mac dictates the production. PC's for all else. personally, i am not satisfied by either. - Kid Afrika - 07-21-2002 Quote:PC's for all else. personally, i am not satisfied by either.Yeah, 'cause neither one is a Twinkie!!! (w00t? you put it over the plate, I'll hit it every time) - Gooch - 07-21-2002 damn you. :fucking: - AdolescentMasturbator - 07-21-2002 I think Apple should give up computers and make iPods only. - Gooch - 07-21-2002 Apple has single-handedly forced PC's to move faster with processors (hats off to AMD, too), and to the design-factor of them as of late. You can also thank them for Operating system, which Windows sought to emulate. While Gates and compabny leach of one another's jizz, Apple has been the trendsetter to follow. Give them props for originality. PC's owe alot to Apple. That's why I find it hilarious that people get into a Apple/Pc frenzy. It's a question of OS, merely. And since one is emulating the other, is it such an issue, at heart? - AdolescentMasturbator - 07-21-2002 Apple's "innovation" in the operating system arena was supposedly the graphical user interface. But the truth is they just ripped that off of Xerox PARC. Xerox was the true innovator that laid the groundwork for many parts of the modern pc. Apple was just able to put it together to the consumer. Besides all os x is now is bsd with a nice interface(which isn't bad). The true difference between apple and pc is the processor design because anyone can run an os if it's compiled for the hardware. Too bad Apple will never make OS X for x86 since it will completely destroy their business. - Gooch - 07-21-2002 xerox may have created the gui, but Apple implemented it, and actually was handed it from Xerox. There was no rip-off (eg: Bill Gates saying, "oh that's perfect, lets do one just like it!") - AdolescentMasturbator - 07-21-2002 Yes, but Apple wasn't the true innovator, xerox was. And while what ms did was worse I think it is eventual for any modern os to have a gui. - Gooch - 07-21-2002 An innovator in my mind, is one who implements...doesn't always have to be the inventor. you can come up with the greatest idea in the world, but it doesn't mean shit unless you use it. Recognizing something, even not your own, and using it in a way that dynamically changes the industry is why I give to props to Apple. And, it was done within professional business practice. The fact Xerox could not recognize or know what to do with it, is their loss. Just my take on it. - AdolescentMasturbator - 07-22-2002 Hey I don't feel bad for Xerox but they have to be realized as the true inventors of it. All apple did was use it in a consumer os. And any number of companies would have done that. - Kid Afrika - 07-22-2002 Oh yeah, well my operating system can kick your operating system's ass. - Gooch - 07-22-2002 Gates vs. Steve Jobs, in a hell IN A CELL match. - Kid Afrika - 07-22-2002 they should each be given the same materials and the same tools to build fighting robots. winner take all. - Jack - 07-22-2002 :disappointed: :-( How the hell did this go from popups to which operating systems is better to wrestling a hell in a cell match, to Battlebots? |
