Pledging allegiance to the flag of a nation suggests you wouldn't commit treason and you are indivisable of your beliefs in what your nation stands for. Fight to the death to protect it's principals

Uh... I think that's his point, old guy. That we (meaning every child in every public school in the united states) are instructed to make this pledge wether we agree or even understand what we're saying.

Call me a coward but, I'm not willing to "fight to the death to protect it's principals". That's what I pay taxes for. So, someone else can "fight to the death to protect it's principals" for me.
