I don't see this posted, so I'm assuming they haven't mentioned it on the show (since I can't hear it). I got this off the rock & roll dentist's board, but I'll quote the original source RBR.COM.

The FCC's indecency cops have issued a $21K fine to Viacom/Infinity's (N:VIA) WNEW-FM New York for bits on the "Opie and Anthony Show" that the Commission staff deemed indecent.

One listener had complained to the FCC about two broadcasts in November 2000. The first, on 11/15, was of a song called "Teen Week," in which a young girl is depicted as performing oral sex on her father. The second, a day later, had a listener who said she was a 17-year-old girl sticking a phone receiver down her pants and manipulating it according to instructions from O&A. That listener provided tapes of both segments to the FCC.

A second listener, who did not supply a tape or transcript, had complained about a 1/8/01 broadcast in which a song aired that allegedly featured a man singing about having sex with two-to-three-year-old girls.

Infinity argued that the material from the November 2000 complaint was not indecent and that the January 2001 complaint should be dismissed because there was no tape or transcript. The company said it had no record of its own of what was broadcast.

But under the new policy initiated recently by which the Commission no longer requires complainants to submit tapes or transcripts in indecency cases, Enforcement Bureau Chief David Solomon decided that Infinity was guilty on all three counts and assessed a $7K fine for each.
So I guess that means we won't be hearing WIMP ever again (not that they've played it, but I recall hearing it on a best-of recently, which made me think that it might be making a comeback. No More "Most Offensive Song" contests either :(

I'm not pissed at the douches who complain; I'd like to pistol whip the a-holes on the FCC who decided that it warrants a fine.

I have kids; I'm responsible for my kids. I don't need not stinkin' FCC to decide what should or shouldn't be on the air.

1a. Try and go a week without having to punch a wall in frustration after watching the Mets play

to add this fcc governing body is a political appointed government agency
So all this is political BS,some right wing christen asshole probably had to complain and had to translate an O@a bit into english.
This is big brother at it's best.

If I say "gobbley goo",someone can try to translate that to english by saying it was a "fuck you" When it gets to that,that is pure bullshit.

The really sad part for the idiot who reported this is that they're probably pumping their chest thinking they've won some type of battle when in fact more people will find out about Opie and Anthony now than anything they've done before.

I don't think that you Americans realize how much freedom you have. In Canada, the Canadian Radio and Television Commission has banned any bits that are degrading to women or the Handicapped. Thanks to American Radio I can hear programs that sicken and disgust me. You people have a great message board, I lurked for a few days before posting.

Welcome Ryestar,
Nice to see newbies who can post intelligently.

I assume you don't live in Quebec. I'll never forget driving into Ontario and trying to buy beer in a 7-11 on a sunday. The guy behind the counter laughed, and said "What do you think this is, Montreal?"

FCC rules are completely arbitrary, and that is what's scary. You can watch NYPD Blue and hear language that would never be tolerated on O&A or Stern.
This country has a lot of freedoms, but there is also a lot of repression. Some people keep forgetting what happens when you restrict freedoms, and others have no sense and want to take no responsibility for their actions.

Anyway, back to T's & A's.

I hadn't heard about that, interesting information goat. Thanks for posting it. I was wondering why they completely killed that bit. I thought it was legal though, they could be rubbing it on their goatee. Does anyone remember the last time they played it? They still do the queef game, why can't they do W.I.M.P?

Was the 17-year-old GWIMP girl from the "famous" mother-daughter GWIMP, when they were in their car (pulled over, of course) participating in the game? You guys remember the outcome? If I was them, which I'm not, I'd wait as long as possible before paying that fine. 21,000 dollar fine is nuts.

This Fucking blows and this isn't going to be O&A's last fine. If they got fined for the 17 year old Guess Whats In My Pants, I think they will also get fined for the 17 year old fake-o some chick from Cleveland did before the Money Snatch Game.
