well, it finally happened. Live365 shut me down. Funny how it happened the day after some dickhead went crazy posting the feed's address all over the place. Here is the email I got from them:

specifically rebroadcasting the live morning talk radio show "The Opie and
Anthony Show" which you are not authorized to broadcast. In this instance,
Infinity Broadcasting which is owned by CBS (“Rightsholder”), has beem
identified as the rights holder or representative of the rights holder of
intellectual property of the content that you are broadcsting on your
station. Accordingly, if you are broadcasting content for which you do not
have rights, you are in violation of your User’s Agreement with Live365.com.
We are obligated to shut down your broadcast immediately, and are taking
immediate steps to do so.

Accordingly, Live365.com has taken steps to remove your broadcast from our
directory, and we have turned off your broadcast pending your response to
this email.

Under no circumstances do you have the right to register again under a
different name to broadcast this or any other illegal content. If you act
in this manner we will seek or will assist the rights holder and will
provide all necessary information to proceed with all available remedies
provided by law.

Alternatively, if you do have the authority to broadcast the content at
issue and you are not in violation of the terms of your User's Agreement,
please notify us immediately. Please notify us as soon as possible and
provide documentation of your rights to broadcast the content.

We do not want to shut down anyone's site and we know our broadcasters put

to the Rightsholder’s request.

If you have any questions concerning shut down or compliance, please email

That sucks, Sblueman. I for one was very appreciative of your feed.

I don't know a whole hell of a lot about audio streaming but I think Shoutcast doesn't rely on any centrally run server so I don't think it can be shut down by some FUCKING ASSHOLE who's all PISSY about his favorite radio show getting KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT!

I may start looking into it myself.

Wow, when Foundry shut down my best of feed, I didn't even get a specific letter like that, naming the show itself. What I did was to change the name of the broadcast, and not advertise it in my O&A board summary. I don't know if that would work in your case, but I was up and running not too long after.

Looks like the rats are people from the don and mike newsgroup. They had two (me and pnigga) and possibly three (hymen) feeds booted and have in the process fucked a number of O&A fans out there. I know I am kicking myself for being so open with my feeds address, but I was just looking to help out O&A fans. I guess SU will have to go back to being real underground.

i got the same email from live yesterday. I quickly switched my feed to music and have been able to keep broadcasting.(for whatever thats worth now) A person that goes by the nick John D. Frazier is claiming responsiblility for being the rat. His post states his email comes from fraize.com, that may be his website im not sure.
