| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | We've all seen it before.. you're not paying attention to the TV.. or you stop on an old show you used to enjoy when nothing else is on.. and you see somebody who is or recently was a pretty big star in an utter bit part, one that's so old or obscure that not even their BIG fans would probably know about... Case in point.. I'm sitting at my computer playing a game, and the TV's running in the background, and M*A*S*H is on. Now I look up.. and there's somebody on the show who I alway's thought had his first TV appearance on Wiseguy, and it was a semi-regular part if I recall.. but honest to god.. there's BJ Hunnicut talking to Andrew Dice Clay, who's playing one of the ever present/passing through, always overlooked injured soldiers.. Now I know I've seen a few other obscure appearances on Law & Order and NYPD Blue.. so I can't be the only one... which "Stars" have you caught in an obscure unnoticed part just "to pay the bills" so to speak? Tom Hanks was on "Happy Days," I think he ended up getting his ass kicked by Fonzie or something just as predictable. Julia Roberts did an episode of "Miami Vice" just before she hit it really big. Other "M*A*S*H" one-shot alums: Patrick Swayze Laurance Fishburn Bruno Kirby Rita Wilson (Mrs. Tom Hanks) George Wendt (on the same episode as Dice) And a few weeks ago, I saw an episode of "Alice" where Jay Leno played a motorcycle gang member (his partner in crime was played by Horshack from "Welcome Back Kotter.") Well, that woman was very familiar to me..... especially the voice. So I look it up on the IMDB, and sure enough, it was my grandmother. I knew she acted, but had no idea she had done that movie.
