My favorite animated movie all time is G. I. Joe the Movie. This movie kicked ass. I loved it so much I had to by the DVD. I love watching Don Johnson kick the crap out of Serpentor. It's so funny what actors will do for money.

South Park:BLU is my favorite animated movie. Never has a cartoon been so twisted and yet so though provoking.

Heavy Metal - A great movie, whether you're high or straight!

  • HANDS DOWN... AKIRA

Akira is the quintessential anime classic. It is beautifully animated, contains a complex storyline, and plenty of violence. The film tells the story of a gang of biker punks who in the course of a rumble with another gang become embroiled in a government experiment gone wrong. The young Tetsuo, insecure and hungry for respect finds himself with incredible mental powers. And as was inevitable, he soon becomes too powerful to control and breaks out. The ensuing conflict is nothing short of amazing.

Akira is highly recommended to anyone interested in anime, although I would be surprised if a person who was into anime had not yet seen this movie. This one is a must see.

    AND GHOST IN THE SHELL

In the future, borders are made meaningless by the net and cybernetically augmented humans go about their daily tasks. In this world, espionage becomes a matter of navigating the net and finding information. Project 2501 is a secret and illegal A.I. that is given the task of gathering this information for the foreign espionage department, Section 6. Quite unexpectedly, it becomes sentient in this sea of information, and Section 6 tries to have it destroyed. The A.I., which becomes known as the Puppet Master, for it's ability to take control of cybernetically augmented humans and manipulate them, seeks out the help of Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg in the Internal Investigations Department, Section 9. His proposition; that they combine to form a new entity.

Setting aside a plot that is very good and surprisingly coherent after translation, Ghost in the Shell is still a shining example of what anime can and should be. It is simply amazing in terms of quality and entertainment value. It's story and plot are reminiscent of William Gibson's Neuromancer, but that is certainly a good thing! This film contains some very realistic animation and some very cool effects

All great choices. Allow me to add Subzero and World's Finest. Both better Batman stories than any of the real movies.

Mask of the Phantasm was the best Batman animated movie.

And Sarcastro, did you see Prince of Egypt before you mock me for it?

Hangupthephone, it's nice to see another otaku around here. 2 great Masamune Shirow works. My personal favorite is Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death. I cant really explain it to those who havent seen the show, but i loved it. I also like Mononoke Hime, by studio Glibi and legendary anime director Hayao Miyazaki. Dont buy the dubbed version, its shit. Also, anything by director Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Wings of Hommenise, etc.)

and for HUTPYS: this is a pic of Motoko Kusenagi as she appeared in the original Manga penned by Masamune Shirow. Dont say it, I already know it is a bad scan.

The Little Mermaid - I really wanted to bang Ariel.

Actually Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Even though I believe it's Animitration I think it's still catagorized as an animated feature. Buz Lightyear is my hero.

I didnt mock ya Just Jon

Id have to say that Sub Zero and World's Finest were both better than Mask of the Phantasm. I guess I prefer the traditional villains to some half assed knock off of the Grim Reaper.(Didnt like the Full Circle storyline enough to go all the way with it?) I havent seen the newest movie yet, Return of the Joker.

Oh, and Ive seen some of the Prince of Egypt. They launched into a musical number and I bailed.
