O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | Enemy at the Gates- Pretty good movie though the sex scene was awkward unfortunately it ended a bit too Hollywoody. I haven't read the book it's based on (will do though) but I want to see the truth about the Weisz character (who I found funny that she was glowing in the hospital when everyone else is all dirty and brused). Harris was great as usual and Fiennes was also good. Dirty Harry- great movie. don't know why I didn't see it before. Blacula- legendary blaxploitation flick. Coming Attractions: The Mummy Returns- Is Anyone Else REALLY turned on when they show bits of the Rachel Weisz/other chick fight sequence with sais? For some reason she her kick ass is really hot. The Score- looks awesome. De Niro, Brando, Norton (who pretends to be retarded in order to pull off a heist). AI- WHERE'S KUBRICK'S FUCKING MENTION? Anxiously awaiting more details on American Psycho II, I hope it works.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Memento - Absolutely amazing, this deserves a best screenplay and best editing award. About a guy who has no short term memory trying ti figure out who killed his wife, and as if that weren't confusing enough the whole thing is shown backwards. O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | I finally saw Blow today. Good flick, Ray Liotta was excellent as was Depp and Reubens, Rachel Griffiths was miscast. If you want to blow your mind no pun intended think about this: Hunter S. Thompson probably got George Jung Brought Cocaine and both are played by Johnny Depp. Anxiously awaiting more details on American Psycho II, I hope it works.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | I am recycling this thread. It's from last week. I'm using it for this week because I'm that type of person. Recycling, kind to the elderly, helpful towards cancer children. I will do all these things in the attempt to avoid the purgatory-esque pain that was Freddie Got Fingered. Watching the movie you wonder if Tom Green was really funny on his show or was it hype. When you wonder that you ponder comedy, then your life, then existance as a whole, then you realize the movie's only 15 minutes in. I'll be honest, I was a fan of Tom Green's show. I never saw him as an asshole or a prick until I saw this movie when he was a pretty bad person. He wasn't funny. His girlfriend (Marisa Coughlan I think he name is) was pretty cute though. They had a concept in Freddie Got Fingered, the Freddie getting fingered concept could have gone places, but that took up less than 2 minutes of the movie. I liked Rip Torn on Larry Sanders, can't say the same here. They had a kid getting the crap beat out of him which often is funny but by the fourth time it was just tiresome. It was disgusting, but there's a difference between gross out humor and just gross out. Guess which this movie mastered in. To make matters worse the trailers before the movie were for the upcoming Stupid Comedies and may God have mercy on my soul for what I'm about to say- the Chris Kattan one was the best out of all of them. That's right, I'm saying a Chris Kattan starrer looked...mildly passable. (It's about an incredibly stupid guy born into a mafia family but can't do anything smart but the family needs him to infiltrate the FBI. I think from the trailer they wanted to make the character a genuine retard but censors probably nixed that.) The trailer for the Rob Schneider "Animal" movie just looked awful though Colleen was cute. On another note I saw Re-Animator at 3 am on IFC last night and that movie rocked. Made me decide to get started on HP Lovecraft (I've been thinking about reading him for awhile but always put it off), any suggestions to start off my reading? In the Nocturnal Brigade

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | Sorry, Snatch was good. I saw it in the theatres when it was out. I never saw Lock Stock, so I don't know if it really is the same movie or not. I just know that Snatch was good. Pitt is great in it. He's great in parts where he plays a character (Fight Club, Snatch, 12 Monkeys, etc.) Unlike his movies where he's just a regular guy like the Mexican or some shit like that.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | The 1994 cheesy, low budget version of the Fantastic Four. So lame, though they did stretch the alleged million to the best they could. Acting was awful, costumes were awful and for a brief moment I think they made it so Ben Grimm can turn from Thing to Ben at will. Of course this got me thinking about the new F4 movie and how it's going to be. After all, the director is the guy who did Bring it On. Bryan Singer did cool movies before X-Men, ditto Raimi prior to Spider-Man (sure he made some bad movies but ...)) and well, who knows about casting.
