| Psychopath Registered: Jul. 01 | Finally, someone started one...I've been waiting. I just didn't feel right starting one myself, being a Flyers fan and all :) I saw their first game and thought they recovered well from a early two goal defecit. They looked sloppy at first but finally tightened up. Unfortunately, too little too late. I saw parts of the Rangers/Sabres game at Bar (No, not a bar...just bar lol) and they looked good. They seem to be familiarizing themselves with all the new players. Lindwuss looked good, I will admit. He's been keeping his head up so far, which is good to finally see. I hope he can keep it up. Richter has recovered well from post season surgery and looks better than ever. Berard has not missed a beat and Messier shows no signs of slowing down. Theo also seems solid. I know for game 1 they had moved Nedved to Left wing from center and he looked very out of place. But I didn't notice him last night. Is he still on wing and did he look any better? If you guys are going to beat the Devils out for 1st Place, you have to chalk up those easy points. Ties are no good. And I know Columbus tied St. Louis and are 0-0-3. But they are still a 2nd year team and are not very good.  | ||||

They have a pretty solid team for expansion and last year they did better than most expected. Expansion isn't like it was 10 years ago. The teams get better a lot quicker. Look at the Panthers and the Predators. Teams are getting quality players through expansion drafts that they hadn't been able to in the past. I'd wait to see how the Devils do against them before I start badmouthing them. Then how much confidence do you really have in your team? I don't care if the Blue Jackets are improved, look at your roster and look at their roster. All I know is that if the Rangers (who are an inferior team to the Flyers) played the Blue Jackets home and home here and walked away without a victory, I would not be pleased at all. | ||||

Superstar names does not gaurantee success...just ask the Detroit Dead Things. They've been collecting big names for years and it hasn't gotten them anywhere. The Fact of the matter is Columbus, Like them or not, are one of the worst teams in the League and you guys couldnt beat them. But thats ok to you. So fine let it be. | ||||

If I remember correctly Columbus ended the season with 28 wins 39 losse 9 ties 6 overtime losses for 71 points. Not quite 500 but not bad numbers for a first year expansion team. In fact they finished just below Chicago (29 40 8 5 71) and the Rangers (33 43 5 1 72) And they also did better than: Montreal (28 40 8 6 70) Minnesota (25 39 13 5 68) Anaheim (25 41 11 5 66) Florida 22 38 13 9 66) Atlanta 23 45 12 2 60) Tampa Bay 24 46 6 5 59) and The Islanders 21 51 7 3 52) But you know what? That was LAST year...new season means new start. I think it's a little early to be calling them the worst in the league. Sometimes they win ones they should lose and sometimes they lose ones they should win. Teams lose games to lesser competitors everyday, you act like the Flyers are the only team to ever accomplish this. So I guess every team who ever lost to the Rangers should be ashamed. Yeah, that Buffalo...they should be hanging their heads in shame for giving up that goal in OT Sunday night...As we speak Colorado is losing to Vancouver...*gasp* the horror...OMG Boston shut out Washington last night...the world is ending!!... Lighten up FB...your expectations are unrealistic. All I was saying is that you play 2 games against the Columbus Blue Jackets and you walk away with 0 victories. thats not a good job. And Im sure every member of the Flyers organization would agree to that. Keep in mind, Ive picked the Flyers to finish 1st overall in the East and I know bad teams beat good teams on given nights and Im not taking anything away from the Flyers. However, I would not be happy if you cant beat the Blue Jackets! | ||||

They still got points out of it. They've played 3 games so far. I guess I have faith in my team to get the job done so ties against teams under .500 doesn't concern me. If they lost by some crazy score like 6-1 then I'd be worried ;) I guess we just don't see these things the same way but it's been fun debating with you. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | To get back to the topic :), its tough to say that the 3rd game of the year is a big game to win, but the Rangers-Capitals game tonight can be very important to the Rangers if we can somehow pull out a win. Plus, it is on national TV, so if they can win, maybe they can improve their image a little and show people that we are on the rebound from last year. | ||||
