| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Dec. 00 | grumblegrumblehousehuntingsucksassgrumblegrumble Wendy - for tech jobs, I've found these two sites pretty decent : www.monster.com www.hotjobs.com Be warned people, and Wendy (with all due respect) can back me up on this. Some of the positions listed on the net are pretty much bait. Head Hunters put these huge salaried cake jobs to get you to call. Then the sales pitch begins. The more candidates they have, the more people they can place, thus then the more money they make. The trick is getting people to actually contact them. If anyone needs the name of good agencies for tech jobs in NY and NJ, email me. I'll forward the 4 that I've worked with. I've gone through about 30 or so. 95% are shady and useless. Nothing but a bunch of indifferent assholes who only want to place you so they can collect the fees. They don't care what you want, they care about filling jobs with bodies. Headhunters place bodies; recruiters place people. Know what I mean? Salary surveys are just guidelines ... typically you should increase 10% for every new position you take. Also, keep another rule of thumb in mind when looking for a job: It will take at least one month for every 10K you earn to find a new position. [email protected] | ||||
