Yeah, yeah Poti played good. He's still not what I would go for in a defencmen though. I'd still like to see York in NY, but what are ya gonna do. I knew Bure would fit in nicely, good win :)

banger, I hear what youre saying but Blackburn worries me a little. He has a habit of giving up multiple goals early in a game so I wouldn't mess around now with only 10 games left besides they have two days off till the islanders

It wasnt Blackburns fault the game against Vancouver.

Its back to back games, Dont mess around with Richter.

Plus the 2 goals that Richter gave up last night he should have had.

Let Richter rest.

Where to begin.

There have been many low points for the Rangers the past 5 years. This is the absolute lowest. If I was a Ranger or a member of the Ranger organization, I would be embarrased to show my face. Im embarassed just to say Im a Ranger fan. This is an absoulute disgrace.

To say that I want Ron Low fired tomorrow would not be a true statement..... I dont want to wait until tomorrow, I want him fired Right this Fuckin Instance!! How can you not have this team ready to play for like the billionth time. How about changing up the lines for the 2 billionth time so nobody can get used to playing with anybody.

Yeah I know Blackburn was beyond awful last night and a huge reason why they lost this game, but maybe if he got the start from the beginning, and was mentally and physically ready to play, it would have been a different story with his play out there.

Richter got a head injury in practice, there was no reason to put him out there. But Low is just a fuckin moron.

The Rangers totally get out worked in the First Period, outshot 10-5 to a team that would probably lose to 80% of the AHL teams.

They are horrible to begin with. Then you take away their best player Kovalchuck. They are without 3 veterans that they traded at the deadline, and they have a goalie making his first NHL Start.

There was no excuse why the Rangers not only should have won this game, they should have won by about 3 or 4 goals. Not only did they lose, They Lost 5-2 and were embarassed!!!

I am beyond disgust with this loss. 5 years in a row without the playoffs, What a fuckin joke this franchise is.

I'm really bummed out by this loss tonight. I knew Blackburn didnt have a chance tonight whether he started the game or not. Hes not ready for pressure games yet, hes 18 for christ sakes. He usually gives up goals in bunches when the pressure gets to him. If the rangers lose vs the Isles monday then its over, if they win we live another day.

Does Ron Low stand a chance of coming back and ruining next year as well if the Rangers don't make the playoffs?

Monday VS Isles should be interesting but then again a 5-1 loss wouldn't surprise me.

sather has alot of work to do in the offseason which he'll probably do on some golf course somewhere since he flees NY every chance he gets. he has to get a new coach, get rid of nedved, dvorak, karpa, fleury, etc etc. has to resign richter, get some key free agents. besides for leetch, richter, bure, lindros, poti, blackburn everyone else is up for grabs. HE HAS TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR. I cant take more of this, 5 dam years is too long. This is hockey, everyone makes the playoffs!!!!!!

The big problem which wont change is cablevision. they are the worst owners ever. You cant run a franchise based on how the other teams you own are doing. I thank god everyday cablevision didnt buy the yankees two years ago when they were negotiating with steinbrenner. All cablevision cares about is the bottom line, they could care less about winning. They ruined the knicks, rangers and now they're keeping fans from watching the only good team NY has, the yankees. we spent 5 years trying desperately to get the 8th seed every year while we couldve been really rebuilding. Were no better off now then we were 5 years ago. Instead of Messier, Gretzky, leetch, richter and 20 stiffs its now Lindros, Bure leetch, richter and 20 stiffs.

He better fuckin not.
He dont deserve to coach the last 9 games, nevermind next year.

And as far as Blackburn not ready for tonight's pressure game. A game against a team that resembles a minor league team isnt a pressure game, regardless if the Rangers are desperate for wins. If he played against the Islanders on Monday, or the Flyers on Wednesday, then he would be feeling the pressure.

Fact is the Rangers should have easily won this game, I dont care who is in net.

And now Richter may have a concussion, so now Blackburn may have to play in some "Real" pressure games like on the Island. All because Low was overworking Ricther, just like he did last year when Richter got injured.

The Rangers have to take advantage of teams like Atlanta, they got the Isles coming up. It won't be easy to win against them, especially if they can't beat the Thrashers. Then we got Philly, which will be even harder. The Rangers have to pick up the slack or they won't make it.

1) Is Richter a free agent at the end of this year?

Do you think Blackburn has a chance of taking over full time if Richter is no longer a Ranger.

richter is a free agent. Blackburn will not be the full time goalie if richter isnt resigned. Hes way too young to handle full time duties. I'd say in two or three years right around his 21st birthday hell be the number 1 goalie for 15 years after that.

Now that Montreal lost tonight it makes mondays game vs the isles HUGE!! Low doesnt have to get the rangers ready to play. If the fact that theyre playing the islanders isnt enough motivation then nothing will get the motivated. Lindros has to play like an animal and lead the team.

Well wouldnt it be nice if Montreal was the only team ahead of them.

Considering that now Washington is ahead of the Rangers and has a game in hand, and Buffalo is 2 points behind but have 2 games in hand.

Face it a team that cant be the Piece of Trashers, is not making the playoffs.

But would it shock anybody for them to go home tonight and now lose to Atlanta after a solid win in Ottawa. God help them if they do.

Obviously that prediction was as accurate as possible.

I was stunned at the ineptitude they demonstrated. Obviously the team is frustrated (see Malakhov's rare fight), but they are just lost out there. How could a team with Bure, Fleury, Lindros & Leetch be so bad on the Power Play?

The Rangers have to start winning, and OT losses or ties aren't good enough now. The Sabres and the Caps are all in the hunt. Lucky for the Rangers the Habs lost to fucking Nashville, they played exactly like the Rangers did vs. Atlanta. And now is the perfect time to make up some ground. The Sabres won today against Ottawa, not good. Plus, The Canadiens have 1 game in hand and it could seem like more because they got teams like the Lightning, Penguins, Blue Jackets and Panthers all coming up on their sked. On a bright note, the Caps got hammered by the Pens 5-1. It's time to start winning!

Well, looks like time to turn this into the
"Who must go, and who must come" speculation thread.

Obviously, Low must go. I usually keep away from blaming the coach, but there is no excuse for this teams lack of direction.

Who should come? Pat Burns? Hitchcock? Ted Nolan?

As far as which players should go, any player over 25 should be available for the right deal.
Richter needs to be re-signed; only money, and only guy who played his heart out every time on the ice.

They'll trade Nedved, and he'll become another Robitaille. Rangers have good young defensemen in system, but outside of Kloucek (who doesn't play) they are all offensive. There is no reason to keep Berard. Rangers need Jeff Beukeboom-type.

Now of course we won't keep our high 1st round draft pick. (luckily it is supposed to be a weak draft)

Low definetley has to go. I don't think we need a new back-up goaltender. Blackburn is still young. If he learns something from Richter he could become a star. I think the Rangers have learned that you can't buy a championship team. It's time to start building your future with draft picks.

Well Richter is out for the season now. Great move Lowe overworking him again. Overworked him last year and he tore his ACL and was out for the year. Richter had no business starting that game on Friday Night against Atlanta and look what happend. And I sure as hell am not second guessing, look at this thread before Friday Night, how I stated that Richter must rest that game.

I think Low is actually worse than Muckler. Very hard thing to do.

Fleury had better be on, or better yet below the first bus out of town when the season ends. He has the potential to be a great offensive player, but he's just so stupid. He disappears for huge stretches, and gets the worst penalties in the world. I like last night when Webb leveled him, none of his teamates even attempted to come to his aide. I think they're all sick of his act too. I can't until he comes back to the garden as a visitor next season, and Ranger fans start doing the 'crackhead theo' chant.

I dont think thats happening.

Fleury surely goes overboard at times and his act can get tiring, but Ill take 20 Theo Fleury's on my team. If the rest of the team played with the heart and intensity that Fleury plays with than this team wouldnt be in the sorry state that it is in.

I would agree that when Fleury is at his best, he's as good as anyone in the league, and I love having him on the Rangers. You have to admit, though, that he just hasn't been right in the head all year. He is clearly distracted. I would be shocked if he's back on the team next season.

I've always loved Fleury's heart - I agree that the rest of the team needs to play with that abandon. Having said that I'll be surprised if he's back. I think that money was targeted already for Bure.

Mike York could develop into another Fleury without the baggage - oh wait, he'll be doing that in Edmonton.

Rangers need to bring in a coach who can light a fire, and get guys to play defense, and they need to do it sooner rather than later. This team has awful chemistry, and someone has to figure out who is going where.
I still think Ted Nolan was a good coach, but he seems to have been blackballed out of the league.

Messier seems like he'll be back, but he has almost become a distraction. I don't know if he can spur the team on anymore, with his injuries and lack of shift time.

Leetch will be back because of his dollars and no-trade. He should give up the "A" , and just concentrate on his own game.

Put Kloucek on 1st or 2nd backline and damn the mistakes. No one else hits (or so it seems).

Figure out what is going to happen with Lundmark. Yeah, he's a -12 at hartford, but has played much better in 2nd half, and maybe he can be the playmaker who plays with Bure, since none of the other centermen seem willing to give up the puck.

Dump Berard, Give Mike Mottau (+20 with 49 pts) a shot (he is why we didn't need Poti)

He's worn the "A" for over 10 years. I think he can handle it. Its the "C" he needs to give up. If Messier retires next year, Lindros should wear the "C" next year.
