Hanger-On Registered: Aug. 01 ![]() | TOTALLY not worth it. Rocko couldn't hold O&A's jock-straps. The funny thing is he doesn't even try, nor do any of the other WAAF D.J.'s. They know that between 3-7, everyone in Boston is flipping the dial to O&A now, but hey, the rest of the day (except for the Stern-followers in the AM) everyone's listening to AAF because they play much better music and have a heavier play-list.

Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 ![]() | I see the whole BCN/AAF battle similar to the KROCK/WNEW thing. People who want to hear music from 3-7 will tune into KROCK, if you want O&A you listen to WNEW. Same idea with BCN/AAF As far as the battle, I think its great radio. If you want to hear how they respond on AAF and you happen to be near a computer you can always tune into their internet stream on their website. Makes you feel like you get the whole story that way. Foundry seems to be keeping up with getting clips from AAF as well. I can't get enough of the Rockhole impression, I thought Ant doing him during the suicide call was priceless. Not everyone will agree with me but I think most people are enjoying how the whole thing is playing out. ________________ Read My Column, Kickin Ass With FoundryMusicAntD on FoundryMusic.com , the most difficult site to navigate on the net and tune into my midnite show on RonFez.net Radio [INSERT CORNY SONG LYRICS OR WACK ZANY QUOTE HERE]

Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01 ![]() | I love every single minute of the whole thing. I am not sure of what makes it so riveting to me, it could be the fact that someone gets their ass kicked (Rockhole and his daily protein supplement Dave Douglass), it could be the hatred that exhumes through the radio and the comedy therein, or perhaps the fact that Opie and Anthony say "just wait, this is nothing," every time we think they've done the unthinkable... The only thing I listen to on the radio is talk, so maybe that's why I enjoy it that much, and even though I don't feel left out, I can see why some people do. ![]() Self-Proclaimed Emperors of all Broadcasting. But it's hard to get really passionate and motivated about a new 'war' when you're so distanced from it, and really are out of touch like we NY listeners are. But we'll manage as best we can.![]() Is my train in vain, has my soul gone to waste Am I just a victim of, a victim of my lost faith

Psychopath Registered: Jul. 00 ![]() | I love war radio, but only when it's done well. Rockhole's response? Please. That was such contrived, god awful radio that I could barely stomach listening to the whole thing. O & A, like Stern before he stopped caring, really want to destroy the competition, that makes their attacks more vicious, more compelling and generally more gooder. As far as BCN and AAF, Who cares about the music? Buy a CD player. I like the music both stations play, I like the music FNX plays, but FNX and AAF have god awful, hack DJ's that are simply torture to listen to. I'm not 100% positive here, but I'm pretty sure O-Zone was AAF's program director, so I wouldn't expect AAF to "break" any new bands, like the AAF drones like to claim they did w/ every band from Godsmack to Limp Bizkit. One more thing, AAF lies about their ratings. They may beat BCN in certain day parts, they may beat BCN in certain demographics, but I'm pretty sure they NEVER beat BCN as a whole. http://www.rronline.com/Subscribers/ratings/ratmain.asp?mkt=bos < Most recent

Hanger-On Registered: Aug. 01 ![]() | That's not true dude, check out these quotes from an article last week in the Boston Herald that O&A even mentioned in their show: "And right now, WBCN could use the help. The station has experienced a steady slide. Last spring, 'BCN earned an 8.2 share of the age 18- 34 Boston radio audience. This spring, it was down to 6.8. WBCN isn't even top dog with its prime audience, males 18-34. Rival rocker WAAF-FM (107.3) beat it in both of this year's quarterly ratings books." Look, having O&A on will probably save BCN now, but deal with the fact that the station has been a sinking ship for a while now.

I love listening to the boys crack on the phony radio bits they do. I have heard other tool stations use the "I stole the concert tickets from our boss" gag. Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 ![]() | The various attacks are nice for the radio, but since most of us are fans who listen to most or all of the show, I have to agree with DiamondDust of the first page. The different things are fine, but to rehash the whole thing, from the beginning, every time they talk about it, is plain boring and I tune the station out every time they start it. Ever since they arrived back in Boston, their show seems to be consumed with attacking Boston. And while I understand how much they've gone through and how long they've waited for this moment, it has been about three weeks now. The honeymoon is over, gentlemen, it's time to get back to business. "Glen honey, I have a question for you- what do you do for a living?" "Hey I have a question for you too- why are you still here?" Last spring, 'BCN earned an 8.2 share of the age 18- 34 Boston radio audience. This spring, it was down to 6.8." Again, AAf may beat BCN in certain demographics, but they have never been ahead of BCN in the overall ratings. 18-34, that is the most important demo to advertisers, but claiming AAF was killing BCN in the overall ratings, that's just not true. Again, I don't care about the music. There are songs on AAF that BCN doesn't play that I like, there are songs on BCN and FNX that AAF doesn't play that I like. As far as DJ's. Nik Carter isn't horrible, but BCN doesn't have any real radio shows outside of O & A and Howard. BCN has guys that talk for two minutes between songs, so I can't really judge those people as a talk show. AAF lets their DJ's go a little longer, but they friggin suck. Hillman's morning show may be the worst show I've ever heard. Rockhole was a tool when he did 7-11 and he's still a tool. I listened to O-zone on occasion, he was the best they had after O & A left, but he's gone too. AAF is the sinking ship. BCN may not be cutting edge as far as music, but, signing Opie and Anthony, that shows that they understand what their audience wants more than you think they do. MikieJ34 I really wish I could think of enough bad or annoying things to say so that I could make MikieJ34's Status longer than his posts, but I'm at a loss. Do any of you have any suggestions?? You know the beautiful sister and the ugly one. The beautiful one always gets attention from everyone and the ugly sister is left behind feeling ignored. After all who knows where O&A would have been if they did not get fired and come to NY. Hey, Bostons loss is our gain. Sweet Merciful Crap!

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 ![]() | I listened in Boston and New York so I love this battle. I'm just waiting for them to call in the troops. But what's even better than just hearing it on the show is that BCN has started doing promos about the war, thus declaring that they are behind o and a. This should be fun [email protected]
