Use that thing called a "brain" and, when you feel like yelling at a taxi driver, hold up for a sec and THINK about what a bigoted jackass you'd look like doing that. Harassing people on this board? | Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | I was mistaken for a person of Middle-Eastern dissent yesterday, in the bar in Newark Penn Station. A woman got in my face saying, "you fuckin’ Arabs are responsible for this"! My ethnicity is Irish and Italian so I don't know what she was thinking about. She was drunk, so I let it go. But it hit home. I'm as angry as everybody else is. But this, in some small way, gave me a partial understanding of what these people living in this country are feeling. And it didn't feel very good. We need to attempt to heal, and then we need to trust our leaders to respond appropriately. I understand the rage everyone in this Country does, and should, feel. But for Christ sake, direct it at the right people. "Can't afford Photo Shop" | ||||

Part of our jobs of defending our country is to make sure we respect and protect not only people of middle eastern decent, but prople of all backgrounds. WE ARE ALL AMERICANS! We stand united as Americans. If you must harrass people of different backgrounds, volunteer to be a missle target. I was appauled when I heard Grumpy and CLS were being harassed. I'm Turkish, but i'm also jewish, so if someone started saying that i was responsible for this, they would be making themselves look like morons on so many levels. I've said things like what grumpy and froy said, however, because it just sickens me to see anything like what was being said on tuesday by some people. I have many muslim friends, both here and back in Turkey, and it disgusts me to see people give them shit. the first people to call me on tuesday were friends from Turkey, who are muslims. just use your heads people, thats all.  and thinking's just too much to ask and you're measuring your minutes by a clock thats blinking eights | ||||

It goes without saying. When I heard people were punching windows in some cabs during the waking hours of the disaster, I was so pissed at the time, I couldn't blame them for their actions. But now I realize that we shouldn't wrongly accuse people of whatever race because someone in their ethnicity was suspected of something so deplorable. Like just this morning, I bought newspapers and a few other things at this store, and at the counter was an Indian, and I DO NOT say that to be racially profiling, but I say that to prove a point, that people are people and we should let people be. If they didn't do anything wrong IN YOUR EYES then you should have nothing to do about it. | ||||
