Stern has been doing these for years now (whether they're entertaining, even when seen, is arguable), and that's a huge reason his radio show isn't what it used to be. If O&A started playing to cameras, the radio content would suffer. For radio to be good, the host must remember at all times that the listener cannot, nor will he ever, actually see what is going on. If O&A want to do TV, it should be an entirely separate show. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Aindik is exactly right. One of the main reasons I stopped listening to Howard was that I felt he was directing too much of the show towards the TV. I shouldn't have to hear "Face the camera. You're blocking the light." when I listen to my morning radio. When O&A do visual bits, they do their best to paint a verbal picture b/c they know the listeners can't see. It seems easy to lose that perspective. When Stern's Saturday show started, he said it would evolve away from being an E-show clone; at the time he acknowledged it was. Maybe it was just laziness, but it never did make that move. The best TV Howard ever did was the New Year's Eve PPV. That's because his attention was focused on the production of that show, even if he thought it was too much work to do again. I don't know how O&A would best suit themselves to TV, but it must be done carefully. Their "product" is still developing, and they won't want to damage it. Happy Thanksgiving to you all! If O&A were going to come out with a TV show based on the Radio show, they should have it on HBO so we can see nudity. That's why I have hated Howie's E show. Why tune in if you can't see any tit? Because it was visual bits for TV, and not visual bits for radio. I think O&A would do well in that type of a show. Maybe have O&A host a variety show. They can have musical guests (Lynch, Valby) and comedians (endless list of friends). They could do so much, they have had a lot of ideas that they said would be on the radio show that they never did. Even the E- show; who cares anymore if he asks girls to show their tits if they are censored? Roger, Even though XFL wasn't really O&A's show, it does show a problem with them on TV; They can't really do what they want. A simple bit with a cucumber becomes a major issue. If O&A could get control, they could make a great show, but I can't see that happening, unless Comedy Central wants to push the envelope more. How about following South Park with an O&A show?  | ||||

Is Howard really angry that The Amazing Race is on CBS instead of The Bernie Mack Show? Maybe, but Stern tends to focus his anger on one thing when he's really pissed at smoething more specific. | Hanger-On Registered: Jun. 01 | i guess les moonves is a bad guy because he cancelled a show with ratings that ellen degeneres laughs at. he is making fun of the amazing race because his producer is leaving to go work for that show. evidently, only howard is allowed to move up in the entertainment world.when the syndicated show began, he used to talk it up as the greatest show ever. now, it is a show that he threw together to do his buddy mel a favor. people aren't buying his spin control anymore. it is always someone else's fault. | ||||
