He can freshen up the show with people around him all he likes, but let's be honest - do people really tune into him to hear Artie Lang? Or Robin? No - they want to hear him, and if he's stale, people won't listen. Ari, if you hate O&A, and you say you are an "intelligent, mature" listener, then why come here? To start trouble? To make a name for yourself on an internet message board? If you have all the answers and you know what's right from wrong in radio-land, why not get a job in radio? And if you already have one, then why not do something to "make it right", and prove everyone else wrong? Until you do so, you sir are a tool, and you'll get no sympathy from me or anyone else here. | Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I have been an O&A fan for 3 years but it is amazing how most of you can not debate anything like a person, instead you just respond with fuck you, it shows the type of people on this board. It is just scary how the die hard O&A fans on here are turning into the type of people they hate, defending the show at any cost.. Just think for a second, do O&A really care about there audience? | Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 02 | Can I offer my meaningless opinion as well? Thanks My thoughts on Stern. I admit I listen to him every morning. I have been for the last 13 years (since i was 16). He is still funny. His show has evolved into something different over the last 3 years. Its no longer cutting edge, he's done just about everything and IMO he does deserve respect from any other talk radio show. Howard paved the road for most "shock jocks". In his defense, I never heard him bash O&A. Ive heard comments about D&M but never O&A. I would have to say the reason he doesnt like to bash fellow infinity shows is because he is also a major infinity/cbs stock holder. If O&A do great, so does he. He doesnt want any Infinity show to fail, that hurts the company which is less money for him in stock options. O&A Funniest show on the air today.I listen to them every afternoon. I sometimes wish I would be stuck in trafic longer just to listen to them. They also are starting to evolve since syndication but are still just as funny. In my opinion, they have taken what Howard created and took it to BACK to that cutting edge level. They like to talk about Howard to help their ratings continue to rise. As they bust into new markets it only continues to help them by staging a fight with Howard. It is my theory that the whole hate between the two shows are staged. D&M Who the fuck are they?  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: May. 02 | O&A did a whole tribute to MARY TYLER MOORE on Monday. Just proves my point that unless it's tits and farts you just don't hear it. Young demographics are where the advertising money is...O&A and Howard have to cater to the immature listener. THAT'S YOU!!! Only Howard balances it with real entertainment for his long time listeners....who have grown with him over the years. Just like D&M. They don't make believe they are something they are not!!! O&A don't try to balance the bathroom humor with real entertainment. As long as better talent surrounds them...they will continue to decline in the ratings. They can put whatever spin they want on the ratings….but they are declining. The current great bit of comedy is comming to a close. Did anyone believe Eddie really killed anyone. You may not find that entertaining, and that's fine. THEN DON'T LISTEN! Tune into Howard, D&M, and whoever else you liusten to, and from 3-7 go read a book, go get laid, do whatever you want. O&A have in the past mentioned that Stern was funny/interesting. I think both shows have their high points, I like Stern interviewing more, and I like the O & A bits, routines, and gags more. As much as I'm a fan of both shows, its not like anything earth- shatteringly original is coming out of either one of them. It's entertainment, I'm looking to laugh or at least, make the time I'm fighting traffic or sitting at my desk go by quicker. | ||||
