very scary.

I agree. I looked at that site and it just really pisses me off that these fuckers have to try and impose their morality on my entertainment. It looks like they call for a boycott almost every week. I hope companies dont fall for this shit; it only takes a few whackjobs with a cause to ruin it for everyone else.

THAT put the entire money-snatch game to shame. Never before have I had that much wood from a radio bit.

The funniest part is that they don't need tape or transcripts anymore to impose these fines. On that basis, you could make up whatever story you wanted. Or am I missing something? These FCC dickheads are half in the grave anyway.

O&A in today's Daily News

Opie & Anthony Skits
Run Afoul of FCC

By DAVID HINCKLEY
Daily News Staff Writer

or everyone who wonders exactly what constitutes going too far on the radio these days, the Federal Communications Commission is trying again to draw the line.

The FCC's Enforcement Bureau has cited three broadcasts by WNEW's (102.7 FM) afternoon team Opie and Anthony as "indecent," and issued Notices of Apparent Liability (NOAL) for $7,000 each.

Sound & Fury: WNEW's Opie (l.) and Anthony are being targeted by FCC investigators for potentially 'indecent' broadcasts.
An NOAL is not a final judgment, but the equivalent of a charge, which WNEW's parent, Infinity Broadcasting, can appeal. An Infinity spokesman said yesterday the company "expects to do so."

The FCC, which acts on "indecency" cases only when a listener complains, cited broadcasts on Nov. 15 and 16, 2000, and Jan. 8, 2001.

The offending segment from the Nov. 15 broadcast, according to the FCC, was a bit about a young-sounding girl performing oral sex on her father, with graphic discussion, sound effects and the girl saying, "Mommy doesn't have to know.… I'm your little whore."

The Nov. 16 broadcast, said the FCC, had Opie and Anthony on the phone with a girl identified as "17-year-old Megan." She is asked to rub the phone over her genitalia, and she apparently complies.

The Jan. 8 broadcast was deemed indecent because a man was singing about wanting sex with 2- or 3-year-old girls.

One interesting aspect of the Jan. 8 case was that the complainant did not include a transcript or a tape, but only a general description of the show.

The FCC in recent years has required a verbatim transcript or tape, but now says it will no longer do so — which some see as an effort by the commission to take a tougher stand on content.

Commissioner Michael Copps has been pushing hard for a crackdown, repeatedly warning that if broadcasters do not restrain themselves, a fed-up public is going to demand government step in.

Infinity denied any of the three broadcasts was indecent, arguing in the case of Jan. 8 that without a verified transcript or tape it was impossible to judge. Infinity said it has no tape itself.

But even if the complainants' descriptions are accurate, argued Infinity, in none of the three shows does the material go beyond prevalent community standards for radio shows.

Infinity fought a similar, more expensive battle involving Howard Stern several years ago. Stern racked up $1.7 million worth of NOALs, and Infinity finally settled the case without admitting guilt by making a "voluntary" $1.7 million payment to the FCC. Infinity needed FCC approval for several acquisition deals at the time and wanted to clean its slate.

This bit sounds like when that girl, (forgot her name) was saying dirty things on the air fed by Rick and the listeners. That is different than what goatweed's original article said was the problem.

The first, on 11/15, was of a song called "Teen Week," in which a young girl is depicted as performing oral sex on her father.

Teenweek is not a song, it is the greatest radio bit ever. Teens doing naughty things to each otehr and devoting a whole week to it. Hence my screen name.

I haven't seen a link to the FCC.gov site. This "NOTICE OF APPARENT LIABILITY FOR FORFEITURE" reads really bad. Funny, but bad. Here is the FCC.gov link It looks like the FCC has a folder for WNEW (O&A). Do a search. It's Good stuff.

What is the tally of all of the laws broken by this radio station? Is there a running total of $$$?

What would it take for the FCC to take O&A off the air?

Evil will always triumph, because good is dumb

*edit: How many times can I say "FCC" in one sitting?*

"prevelant community standards" The last time I took a look at my radio it had three options AM, FM and off. Also I don't recall ever broadcasting the show outside of my home or business. I suppose the FCC forgot that this is a republic based on democracy and listening to a particular radio transmission is not an obligation to uphold such "prevalant community standards."

That's what I was thinking; the bit with Jim Koch(?) of Sam Adams. (Actually I found that one of their best bits - I guesss we can add that to the list of that will never be played on air again. :(

If you read the FCC thing that the link was provided, it was that bit to a Dru Boogie mix. So basically what they are talking about is a commercial that was run many times from an extremely funny show. There were lines that were worse that Rick came up with that did not make the commercial.

How is it legal to impose a fine for indecency when you have no proof of such? Anyone can call a radio station and claim that they are any age they want to be. Why don't these assholes who are bitching about it turn off the fucking radio? Damn, I'm surprised they never had every other radio station fined for airing some of those condom commercials..talk about indecent. Some of that shit amazes me that it gets on the air. I'm sure they'll just pass that off as a PSA so they can get away with the heavy breathing and sexual innuendo.

Corrine. The pioneer of teen week.

I don't think this is what the article was referring to though, because it cited Nov. 15 as the date.. But I know that this bit happened sometime during the summer.

Then again, it's probably just the FCC publishing even more inaccurate information.

:(What I can't believe is that I will never hear "Baby Raper" again.

That has to be the 'Cringe-iest', yet catchiest song in history.

New markets have NO idea what they missed out on.

Does anybody know of any place to download it from?

It,s people like YOU Greg & Acne,WHO CONDONE "sex with 2 & 3 yr olds" you make me fucking sick.

PERVERTS,

YOU THINK THIS SHIT IS FUNNY,

Try having a child who was abused then see how FUCKING FUNNY YOU SEE IT...

*************************************************
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, Greg & Acne are fined by the FCC for three shows involving:

1 A girl performing oral sex on her father
2 A 17 year old pleasuring herself with the phone via
G&A's commands
3 A song about a man having sex with 2 and 3 year olds

D&M's previous fines have never been about content. They have both been about the phone rule, and in both cases the FCC dropped the issue. D&M's FCC slate is clean as a whistle.

This is serious stuff for G&A, and plays right into Don's rave out about how advertisers stay away from that show.

Don't believe the *G&A spin* that it's not a big deal. It is. It's worse than Stern. You're talking about having sex with kids. And the FCC has already decided they are guilty.

Info? Go to RBR.com for the whole story.

Not to mention G&A are so stupid, they were discussing it on their show Friday.

As my header states, that's one of the biggest differences in the shows. Kidddie porn on G&A = big part of what they do. Kiddie pern on D&M = NEVER. Called having some standards.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out for the Infinity chosen boys.

Its called "cringe radio" its what O&A do, and let the consequences be damned. If people are going to be most offended by songs about vile acts, and over the top segments that make you feel like you need to take a shower afterwards, then thats what they'll keep doing, because they know thats what their fanbase loves.

but he is the kind of ahole that should be sterilized.

Do YOU have any children?
you know nothing about the bit except for what you read. Try getting the facts before you open your trap.

At least the song referred to "Baby Raper" was FUNNY, unlike the crap your gods put out.
