O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01	if they were to go to mornings, it wouldn't be at WNEW. why would WNEW put O and A up against Radio Edit if they aren't even allowed to mention his name on the air now? it wouldn't be a smart move for management and i'm sure that Radio Edit wouldn't allow them to be in direct competition with him.

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00	Cant imagine an Infinty station putting O&A on mornings against Stern. I believe when Stern signed his latest contract a "no compete" clause was mentioned as part of that deal. Which means if Opie isnt blowing smoke up our asses as a negiotiaing tool, they'd have to go to a Clearchannel station in New York. The new Z-100 morning zoo...Opie and Anthony?? The Q?? PLJ??? The only stations in New York they belong on our Infinity stations (Krock or NEW) and Opie has to know that. And, even if they werent to renew, there would have to be some clause in their contract preventing them from going to a competitors station in New York for an alloted period of time. They could move back to Boston, but that would have to include a syndication deal or else it makes no sense. Actually, Boston makes no sense whatsoever. If they can move to Boston and get a syndication deal, they should be able to stay at NEW and get a syndication deal. Unless they move to mornings in Boston, in which case I dont think Infinty would syndicate them back to NY to compete with Stern anyway. Overall, the suggestion of moving to mornings makes little sense(Krock has a just fine morning show and NEW is not allowed to have one). Leaving Infinty makes little sense either. They want to stay in NY and there really is no other station's format that their show fits into. NEW seems to be the only place for them right now. "Two months" is a negiotiaing tool. Its an attempt to pressure management into a better deal. Not resigning with NEW and Infinty would be cutting off their nose to spite their face. They'd have to leave the market for awhile and it could take them months or years to get back here. This is, of course, assuming the NY market means as much to them as they say it does.

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00	God, this is going to fuck up my whole day. I hate to admit it, but Opie sure makes it sound like they are going to mornings when they negotiate a new contract. As for which station? It does not matter. Remember, they are an island. Where ever they go, we will go. As long as there is a decent signal, who cares whats on before or after them? Will anyone on this board not listen to the show just because it's on Z100 or the Q? I don't think so. It will suck for me though, I work nites and will hate getting 4 hours sleep because I got to get up at 6 A.M. to get my fix!

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01	Well one thing I see that will NOT happen is O & A going to Boston,to do mornings, first off WBCN syndicates Howies show in the AM, and they were stressing the fact that they are from NY. let them negotiate, and get the nice raise and recognition from the management that they deserve and stay with WNEW in the afternoons. I am un-adoptable...

If they stayed in the 3-7 bracket, they are guarenteed the same amount of listeners, since all we have to do is shift the dial. Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01	Just because O&A want to be on the air in Boston doesn't mean they want to go back there.. they hated that town, but their fans loved them. I don't see any possibility of them moving back there, even if they were still syndicated to NY.. but I am completely puzzled. If it's mornings they want, maybe Q 104 will take them.. the world will get along fine with 4 less hours of classic F'ing rock.

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01	I don't think they will leave WNEW. I do think they will be syndicated starting in June, with the new contacts. WNEW only good thing going for them is the O & A show(I like R & F, but their ratings don't even compare to O & A). Even though they got the worst & stupidest managment in the world (D&M still being here & on from 7-11 instead of R &F) as one of the many dumb things they have done, but I don't think they are dumb enough to let O & A go elsewhere. The next rating book (not the trend that comes out on fri), but book that comes out in April will be big. If they continue to be a 5+ which is almost certain they won't go anywhere

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	Let's use some logic for a minute. To do a morning show you have to wake up around 4 or 5 in the morning. That means the boys will have to be n bed around 10 the latest, and when they do get up they'll be cranky as hell. Ant's drinking habits don't support that kind of lifestyle - early to bed and early to rise - and I don't think Opie would be into it either. If they do go to mornings it'll suck balls, but I don't think they'd ever agree to it in the first place. I see stupid people...They're everywhere...They don't know they're stupid...

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	Maybe O&A could go to Hot 97 and do mornings. I heard those guys are going to LA. They could get in more with the black audience and have guests like Puffy. OJ, Ray Lewis, Rae Carruth and all other black criminals, rappers, and gangsters. They always talk about wearing the ice and sometimes they try to act black. Opie looks like Vanilla Ice and Anthony looks like B-Real from Cypress Hill. I see a sig pick here. It's a better idea than them going to Z100 where they can interveiw N'Sync and the backstreet Boys. Teens, making the world a better place to live in.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	They would be real dumb to move out of the big market. Syndication, but I think most people would get the NY References a little more than the Bostons. I know I would. Are AM stations totally out of the question??? Who knows, maybe a station could change format into talk between now and then, and there you go a spot to open up.
