| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I happened to be listening to Don & Mike after todays best of and they were bitching about not being able to talk about some other CBS radio DJ (most likely meaning Stern or O&A). At first I thought it was O&A, which lead me to think it might have something to do with the court case but as the discussion went on it seemed it had to be Stern since some Boston fan called in and trashed them over their jealousy of Stern's success. I believe D&M were scolded over talking about Lea Remeni, a frequent guest of theirs and hottie from King of Queens, and saying how she should stay off "big bird's" show and stick with theirs. If this was totally off-topic, I apologize. Just relaying the info I heard. ________________  Charcole brickette? He made reference to Don and Mike and said the O&A Show was gonna be a "killer show." Knowing Ron and knowing the real situation, he was just fucking with us, but I guess none of you people listen before 3. Oh, and the real reason they were in Court was because Craig Schwab found a decomposed fish in the drop-ceiling above his desk and sued them for harrassment. On the other hand, maybe Op just said "we got f'ed" because they thought they'd be able to go to court & get it over with before the show but they got delayed. "We got f'ed" sounds better on the air than "we got delayed, sorry guys." It's probably nothing to serious. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with contracts, though. From: News and Views | BizNews | Wednesday, December 15, 1999 WNEW, Ex-Rock Jock Tangle ormer WNEW-FM DJ Dave Herman has filed a $10 million lawsuit against parent CBS and two of WNEW's new stars, bad boy talk show hosts Opie and Anthony. Herman, WNEW's longtime morning man who spent nearly three decades jockeying tunes for the one-time classic rock station, claims CBS stiffed him on his severance pay after firing him last year as part of a purge as the station began to move to a talk format. The suit, filed in New York state Supreme Court, also alleges that last year Opie and Anthony took several on-air phone calls from Herman's estranged wife, Libby, who "made a number of false and defamatory statements" about him. According to the suit, Herman's wife called him a "deadbeat dad" and said he was taking Viagra. "It's a terrible shame that after all these years Dave has worked for NEW that the relationship had to end like this," said Herman's attorney, Derek Wolman. CBS said it has not received any information about the suit and wouldn't comment. Libby Herman could not be reached. Dave Herman now works as director of programing for eYada.com, a network of Internet talk radio stations, started by Robert Meyrowitz, who also created the King Biscuit Flower Hour, the syndicated rock radio show. The ex-DJ declined to discuss the suit, but said, "WNEW was the place I spent my entire adult life and professional career and I hold an incredibly warm spot in my heart for what the station was." | ||||
