| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Just an idea for everyone worried about today's show: If someone calls WNEW and just says are Opie and Anthony going to be on worst of today or do you not know what is going on, we might be able to at least have some idea how talks are going. If they say that they are going to be on worst of, then it means talks are still going, and that they probably have not signed elsewhere. (Keep in mind I openly acknowledge I could be very wrong) I guess as long as Don and Mike don't take over the air waves today at 3 there is still a pretty good chance that they will be staying where they are or at the very least Infinity. I know a lot of you are going through withdrawal, but you have to be proud of the guys for not giving in and fighting for what they want and deserve. If we have to go through a summer without O&A and in the fall they have all that they wanted, then so be it. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | FMFB: The voice of reason in an otherwise inane thread. :) F the S - heard the sweeper this morning.... actually it was a cut of Thursday's show - basically this girl (Monique) came in because she really wants to bang Black Earl, so Earl met her and such. Then the Retarded L&S showed up, and I really don't remember hearing where the Earl bit went. And since this is the official speculation thread, I feel the need to repost my speculation from last night.... Be warned. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | OK, I just heard Opie is going to team up with Regis for the All New Regis and Opie show. ABC is bringing back Heraldo and Anthony is going to be an investigative reporter doing the premier show, The Lost Jimmy Hoffa Vault. We will be watching live as they open the vault to see if Hoffas bones are in there or if they are still in the east endzone of Giant Stadium. Spaz will start appearing on Don and Mike as their roving gay reporter as he investigates men that shop at Walmart for their lingerie needs and Black Earl moves to WKKK in Tuscalousa, Alabama as their Program Director. Of course this is only speculation.  o&aswallow Recognized His Destiny Early. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | 2 thoughts.. One all the plugs on WNEW about Don and Mike having some (can't remember the number) million listeners by June. Then all of a sudden last week, it was June 20th. So the Don and Mike thing can be true. Also, remember when the Radio Chick got fired because of low ratings, but they still played best of's from the show and then she was rehired. Maybe (a pipe dream perhaps) it's just all hype and someday they'll be back on WNEW. This whole contract negotiation is going to cause a media stir leading to more hype leading to more listeners. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I think the whole Radio Chick mess was a WNEW fuck-up: they fired her right before a good book, then had no idea what to do. I fault WNEW, not Infinity, for that one. I hate this place, the medications don't work, they boys have been there three years... I hope they end up somewhere else... think about how many more Stern listeners there would be if O&A were on the same station as he. Stern couldn't pass that one up. If you've ever listened to D&M, you undoubtedly know why they couldn't even begin to handle NYC afternoon drive. Personally, I'd like to see O&A get a morning slot on a non-Infinity station. Then you'd see the boys at their finest. And all you people who say they won't move from the afternoons.... okay, I don't know how many times I have to say it, but morning drive is THE top spot in radio. There is nothing higher. | Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | Here are my thoughts on the subject: If Mark and Kevin come back, I applaud it... it will add that spice back that has been missing for the past few months. I wont want to miss one second. Not that I do now. If they move to KROCK, which could be possible. Not likely but possible. Remember Money is the root of all evils. Think about it, if KROCK took them they would be thee dominant station in the market. No body says that they have to go to 100% talk. I dont think KROCK would want to lose that aspect of their station. They would own the men demographic. 2 Syndicated shows which are number 1 in the NY market. Plus Rock! If all the speculation is true, It certainly would be interesting. Personally I think WNEW would then change format if this took place. Because O&A are the corner stone of that station, keeping it afloat. As they have said, they are the island!!! Everyone else is just a booey... or a bababooey.... hehehe. Whatever they do, whatever they decide I will follow. I actually think that having them syndicated on KROCK having mark and spaz and the whole crew in their.... god.... to be honest, I actually hope it happens, but whatever does happen I support them and their decision.
