I use dyndns.org for the redirector of my dynamic IP of the address that sends the broadcast to.. so I can (try to) log in and fix the feed when needs...and play "The Calling" during the breaks (Shall we dance? ;-) ) I have a little client program loaded that sends my dynamic IP to dyndns.org every time it changes .. so after about 5 or 10 mins - -the IP is refreshed .. works out rather nicely  http://www.live365.com/stations/268123 ChuckRadioToo! 24/7 Original Artists ChuckRadio: This ain't no Summer's Eve.. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 00 | I know this is kinda late but, here's a few helpful hints on starting an FTP site... Things you will need: 1. A router / firewall, which gives you the ability to direct incoming traffic on PORT 21 to a certain machine (i.e. SMC BARRICADE 7004BR) 2. If you're running Win 98, you will need some sort of web server software (XITAMI is free and available on DOWNLOAD.COM) Also easy to use... 3. If your DSL is dynamic IP (ADSL), you will want something to assign a DNS name to your server (NO-IP is good, and also FREE on Download.com) Also, easy to use... 4. Knowledge on Firewall Security and protection of your machine is also a good thing... Make sure you have protection, and antivirus software... And be sure that all FTP access is READ ONLY, aside from your Administrator account... Don't want freaks, filling up your hard drive with kiddie porn... E-mail me if you have any questions... The windows version is available from Visit this Website While the windows version is called "beta" it is still a superior web server. I've used it to support sites of over 20,000 visitors a day on an old pentium. It does take some getting used to though as the configuration is all done by a very elaborate text file instead of using a GUI interface. -Script  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 00 | You know, to a large extent Script, I couldn't agree with you more... Apache is great, but that whole "beta" thing throws me off... The other thing I find is that XITAMI is so very easy to configure... It was the first Web Server software I used, and it was up in a jiffy... Plus, when you're working on running the server from a standard Home PC, I think it works exceptionally well, in the background, without making any fuss to any other applications you have running... I will look into Apache again though, now that I have a little more knowlegde on running a web server from home, without using a stand alone server...
